ISLAMABAD: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman says JF-17 Thunder programme has achieved important milestones and the aircraft will match the standards of its competitors.
He was talking to Commander Royal Jordanian Air Force Major General Mansour Salim Al-Jobour in Amman on Thursday.
Commander Jordanian Air Force appreciated high standards of professionalism being set by Pakistan Air Force and stressed the need for learning from each other’s experience.

JF-17 is a great plane.
The best thing is, it can fly & shoot missiles unlike the neighbors teja bhai who free loads on trailer all day long.


In Block III, we should add AESA radar, new & better targeting pod, dual seater version, better engine than RD93, & it should come in black.

JF-17 Thunder may not be like F-16 or F-18 but a least these jet fighters will not let Pakistan be much affected by military sanctions imposed by USA during war and other difficult times.

Great project will do wonders for the PAF.

no way would PAF have been able to modernise a huge air force of 400 planes on just F16s or hyper expensive euro planes.

Sir it is not just sanctions fee (to some extent -- not happy with the power plant situation) but performance is better than the fleet it is replacing. PAF is doing a lot of mix and match with Mirage III, IV, F-7, and F-7PG.

With the intro of JFT, mix and match will be drastically reduced, training will be easier, logistics will be more economical, a single platform will do which was being done with four different types of platforms!!

The latest number thrown around is 275. The document of ACM Khalid mehmood interview. Two things were of importance in it. The number 275 and JF-17 wont stop at block III. We might see IV V VI blocks in JF-17
