i still dont know why they simply didnt drop the bomb form 60 miles away, instead of this stand off
lol
bomb won't be accurate from 60 miles away, can't maneuver and can easily be taken off couse cuz of winds and other weather conditions. stand off weapons are preprogrammed to go to a target and can glide/maneuver to the bulls eye.

Hi,

When you strike a very very important target---a make or break target---you don't drop off a weapon at the maximum distance---but rather at the minimum possible distance---even if it is a one way ticket for the pilot.

you can use two weapons, laser guided and GPS guided, and are extremely accurate, there is no point is going close, if its unguided you will probably miss it more likley even if you nose drop close to the target, as compared to guided glide bombs released at 60 miles stand off range, problem could be less payload and slower time to travel and greater chance of it being intercepted by ground batteries

Hi,

It does not work when you go out hunting---.

I don't know if you have ever gone hunting---.

It is the importance of the TARGET in question and the availability of the time---that determines the distance of the launch---.

Like in this scenario---there is no chance of error---you miss---the enemy will place assets to protect the bridge---enemy crosses over the 'bridge'---the opponent is done---.

You do not have the "time" for a second strike in this case---.

Its a sensor basically used in every aircraft to know how much it is tilted or to know rotation angle.this thing combined with other sensors helps to get orientation of the aircraft. Lasers are fixed on a reference point on a fixed disc.other disc rotates with rotared aircraft body so end point of optical beam is noted on it which gives rotation angle .
