You all know storm force.... His best intention is to troll and derail the topic to who made it and who made it not......

@ MODS: Ask him that Either he should give source of license assembled or get banned....

BTW how is your lincence assembly of Dhruv, Arjun, P-800 (Which you call Bhramos), Su 30 MKI, And supplied kits of LCA are going??

Because of one ignorant (either he is being ignorant deliberately or unknowingly ) we can't derail the whole thread .bringing this indian stuff will only derial this thread further as very soon you will see many other indian members to either defend or start bashing our stuff due to this post.

If one is ignorant or trying to act like one,its better to leave him and let him die because of his ignorance rather then taking yourself down to his level and disgracing yourself in process

How much do you want from a light fighter? Its radar can guide four, not two sd-10s simultaneously, search range is 150 kms, MTBF 230 hours, 30 modes of functions, this all gives it a good cost to performance ratio, is being improved and built in house, better than the rest of our radar inventory except the APG 68 V9 but than V9 is better than most pulse dopplers in the world anyway

quite true, but what i was pointing or trying to convey was that if PAF want the JFT to be its future, there are a couple of sections that require improvement and the radar is one of them.
in current scenario, it would be ideal to look toward the JFT as the main stay and back bone of our force in comming years and we need to improve on the system to acheive this.

i hope the later blocks (BlkIII onwards) carry a better radar, a more powerfull engine and hence a couple of more hard points. more use of composities will further reduce its RCS and that will be the modle that can be the life line for PAF in comming decades..

regards!

3 march 2006

03 to 108
February 2007

109 to 110
July 2009 and start pak production

111 to 116
Okt- dec 2009

117 to 129
2010

15 to 16 planned in 2011
15 to 16 planned in 2012
From that it is up to 25 a year

A strange development is the fiscal year...

Though 113 was produced in 2009 it has code 10-0113. Could be induction date... Same logic goes for F16 which have fiscal year 2010... Ordered a lot earlier.

113 is the serial number (13th a/c produced)

there is no thing as a 'order no'

The JF‑17 co‑production project is one of the most ambitious projects undertaken at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. The tangible benefits of the JF‑17 program extend beyond the apparent defence outlook to the creation of a highly enabled technological hub in the country. The wide array of diversified engineering facilities presents opportunities to both academia and the industrial sector of Pakistan. The presence of state‑of‑the‑art technology within their reach can greatly enhance the awareness level with minimal additional investment. Experts can research on ways to best utilize the latest technologies available at PAC to the mutual benefit, thus innovatively improving the value‑addition in the manufacturing sector of Pakistan. The project has afforded more than 4000 employment opportunities, thereby contributing towards the well‑being of people from all over the country. The growth in expertise shall benefit the local industry through consultancy, advice and training. The human resource trained on these technologies at PAC can make valuable contributions to the national skill potential. Over a long period, capitalizing on their high skill level, the human resource can even evolve as an upstream vendor industry.

The fruits of this endeavour are manifested in the form of JF‑17 Thunder aircraft, which is an all weather lightweight aircraft, having an advanced airframe design, high aerial manoeuvrability, state‑of‑the‑art avionics systems, and a wide array of weapons. Equipped with these features, it can truly be placed in the higher strata of medium‑tech aircraft category. The flexibility of customisation in incorporating the avionics suite would prevent the briskness of technological advancements from outpacing the strategic foresight. The JF‑17 has been designed to stand in good stead in the future and it is envisaged to remain the mainstay of PAF for years to come

The JF‑17 Thunder Programme is a landmark achievement in the quest for realizing a dream through friendly cooperation between two countries. The co‑production of JF‑17, a vital and integral element of the overall programme, is undoubtedly a challenging project undertaken by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex in support of the national goal of self‑reliance. The newly established state‑of‑the‑art facilities represent a quantum leap in the technological capability of PAC and shall be a forerunner of even bigger endeavours.

The personnel of PAF draw inspiration from the countless sacrifices rendered by our national heroes and the contribution made towards defence of the motherland. The distinction of belonging to a select group of countries capable of manufacturing a fighter aircraft should indeed be a boost to the national esteem. The people of Pakistan can cherish the JF‑17 Thunder with resounding national pride, as the skies of their beloved motherland shall be guarded by a potent homegrown platform

What assembly????

JF-17 (S-7 C/D)
“PAF will fulfill its immediate requirement from FC-1 A/B. However, it will relay on PAC KAMRA to develop improved next-generation multirole / multi-mission fighter / attack aircraft to replace its old fleet and to counter emerging threats. It may differ from its predecessors mainly in its avionics, it’s new multiple target air-to-ground and air-to-air firing linked to new radar and its new visualization and control system.”

“PAF was desperate to upgrade its fleet of aircrafts but so far there was no success. Now they are directing their efforts towards upgrading its future variants of FC-1 aircrafts. One example is Fiber Optic Towed Decoy (FOTD). It provides aircraft protection against modern radar-guided missiles to supplement traditional radar jamming equipment. The device is towed at varying distances behind the aircraft while transmitting a signal like that of a threat radar. The missile will detect and lock onto the decoy rather than on the aircraft. This is achieved by making the decoy’s radiated signal stronger than that of the aircraft.”

“The Chief of Air Staff and many senior officers of PAF were not satisfied with the specifications of S-7, since the project is delayed by six years, it was not possible to change it again and again. In a meeting with Chinese counterpart, the Presidents agreed to launch a new project to enhance the specification of this aircraft. The new fighters, preferably named as S-7 (C) and (D) (or the next blocks of J series with modifications) will be upgraded blocks of aircrafts to counter fourth generation fighters. They will differ in avionics, design, radar, weapon storage, range, etc.”

“The S-7 (C) and (D) will have a range in excess of 4,500km, which means it can easily patrol onshore/ offshore installations without requiring aerial refueling.”

“The cost of S-7 (C) and (D) fighter jets is estimated to be $ 40 million and $45 million respectively.”

“For S-7 (C) and (D), PAF is considering radars with a range of 200-300 km, other features may also include multi-targeting systems.”

“The S-7 (C) and (D) aircrafts shall be capable of carrying a wide range of conventional stores including anti-airfield weapon, anti-radar missile, laser-guided bombs and air-to-surface missiles. They can also perform anti-surface shipping role and reconnaissance missions.”

“For there primary air-to-air role, the S-7 (C) and (D) can carry six short-range or four medium-range coupled with four short-range missiles. In order to achieve air-superiority and making situation feasible for ground attack fighters it can not only select and take four targets simultaneously but can also fly beyond 4500 kms. However, after achieving air dominance, it can continue its air-to-ground missions.”

“The combat radius of new blocks will be 2000 kms. similar to the most advance medium range ballistic missile inventory of Pakistan.”

“The FC-1 (C/D) displays will be functionally partitioned as follows:

· The primary display will provide a plan view of the air and ground tactical situation, with identification, prioritization and tracking of multiple threats.

· Two displays are going to be for communications, navigation, and general flight information.

· The remaining three secondary displays will show air and ground threats and stores management information.

· The HUD will give target and weapons status, as well as cues and aids for weapons targeting and launch.”

“By the end of 2010, the PAF will approve the final design of the FC-1 (C/D) and only then it will be confirmed that the program is ready to proceed for fabrication and assembly. The PAF plans to procure 80+ FC-1 (C) and 70+ FC-1 (D) and scheduled production will continue till 2019.”
