اسلام آباد (اے پی پی) ماہرین نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستانی انجینئروں کی پیداوار جے ایف 17 طیارہ ایف 16 کی نسبت زیادہ مفید ہے جو پانی کے ا ندر بھی اپنے ہدف کو نشانہ بنا سکتا ہے۔ قومی دفاعی یونیورسٹی کے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد خان نے ریڈیو پاکستان سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پاکستان کی مسلح افواج دن بدن مضبوط ہوتی جا رہی ہیں۔ انہوں نے پاکستانی ایئر فورس کو جے ایف 17 تھنڈر طیاروں کی حوالگی کے حوالے سے سوال کے جواب میں کہا کہ ا س سے پاکستانی ایئر فورس کی طاقت میں مزید اضافہ ہو گا کیونکہ یہ طیارے ایف 16 کی نسبت زیادہ کارآمد ہیں۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ جے ایف 17 تھنڈر طیاروں میں فضا کے ساتھ زمین پر بھی وار کرنے کی صلاحیت موجود ہے۔ انہوں نے ان طیاروں کے بنائے جانے میں پاکستانی انجینئروں کی کوششوں کو سراہا اور اسے ایک عظیم کامیابی قرار دیا۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ چین بلاشبہ پاکستان کا قابل اعتماد دوست ہے جس نے ان طیاروں کی پیداوار میں پاکستان کو مکمل تکنیکی رہنمائی فراہم کی جو دونوں ممالک کے مابین دوستی کے مضبوط رشتے کی واضح مثال ہے۔ ایئر کموڈور طارق محمود نے جے ایف 17 طیاروں کو تاریخی کامیابی قرار دیا اور کہا کہ ان سے انہیں اپنے منصوبے میں مدد ملے گی۔ اس طرح کے طیاروں کی ہماری ایئر فورس کو ضرورت تھی جو پوری ہو گئی ہے۔

Whatever, over-all, JF-17 Thunder is a game-changer for PAF!

A truly multi-role 4th generation+ aircraft that can conduct Air-to-Air, Air-to-Sea, Air-to-ground, point defence, deep strike missions, and as well as SEAD operations! Heck, now JF-17 is being integrated with Ra'ad cruise missiles giving it a stand-off nuclear strike mission capability too...

All of it in just $15m to $20m a piece? PAF has truly struck a jackpot here

No to mention that unlike some useless paper planes, JF-17 Thunder is seeing operational war against insurgents and has already passed way over 10,000+ flying hours!

Perhaps you can enlighten us about the said 'underwater' capabilities. The rest of us are pretty confused here as to how JF-17 can attack targets underwater. Did someone equip it with Sonar sensors? Can it now replace our anti-submarine assets?

Honestly, you should think through the consequences of posting a nonsensical claim. It is easier to blame a journalist for not having a proper understanding of technical issues than to accept such a claim.

Let's stop fanboying here. The JF-17 is good for what it is, but when it comes to the F-16, the JF-17 struggles to keep up. the block 52 F-16s wouldn't even break a sweat against the JF-17.

What needs to happen is that the JF-17 should be developed further. Maybe in 10 years time we can say for sure that the JF-17 is better than the F-16 in all aspects, but currently that's not the case.

Same goes with the Indian LCA, which is still far behind other 4th gen fighters.

That is most probably referring to hitting sea-born targets but my question would be, do we not have this functionality in F-16 as well? If we do then this statement is definitely referring to some capability which F-16 doesn't have - which could be hitting submerged targets - but - I am not aware of any anti-submarine weapon which JF-17 carries.

Question
Pakistan operates Chinese Z9 anti-submarine helicopters. What weapon do they carry to target submarines? If Z9 can target a submarine.. can a JF-17 also use the same weapon and launch the missile? I am thinking loud now but is that possible that Z9 and JF-17 could exchange radar/sonar data?
