JF-17 Block-II equipped with new MAWS

90
Earlier when i said that it was a light like that installed on upgraded Jaguars (pop out) to assist in night time refueling, some of you argued how can a side looking light help in this regard and insisted to be MAWS on the JF-17, but now we are back to initial judgement.

Yup...hence proved...

. . .
it looks more like an illumination source for night time in flight refueling than MAWS

No, doesn't.

I think the design/placement is like cabin lighting, i.e. recessed and angled:

A few points why would block 3 need a new prototype if there were no new structural changes like cft or limited front end rcs like diamond shape? Just for hanging two additional hard points and new radar ?? Anyway almost 3 plus year for the change means there is something more than simple add jh new HP and changing radar, guessing though ...

If you follow @messiach there are some very interesting things happening for the engine. Already, in the B version, the wings have been strengthened further. Also, if you notice, there is minimal smoke in B and also in the plane that flew during 23rd March parade. The max thrust of engine is also going up to 100+ kN.

I wonder if PAF has received the 2 prototypes of B and how testing is proceeding on them...

Dont forget jf17 is 8g aircraft , paf will definetly try to make it 9g aircraft so emphasis on some structural and material changes is may be one of these reasons :-/ , if they want to take it to f16block52 level in a real assence, they should do that
