In July 1983, Civil War breaks out in Sri Lanka between majority Sinhalese and minority Tamil.
In 1987, India sends troops as peace keepers to end the conflict. The LTTE train their guns on Indian Soldiers and thousands of Indian Troops die and LTTE assassinate Indian PM.
India withdraws and takes a passive stance refusing to sell heavy weaponry to Sri Lanka and chastising Sri Lanka for asking for weapons from China as India's own Tamil population support the LTTE.
India favors a two state solution in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka asks Pakistan for help who sends its tanks, rockets, rpg, machine guns and other heavy weaponry despite stern Indian objections.
Sri Lanka defeat the LTTE in two years after the arrival of the Pakistani Weaponry.
