J-16 serves a similar role as F-15E in the USAF, the first true multirole Flanker China that can perform ground strike as well as air superiority. It's a step up from Su-30MKK and Su-30MK2 currently in inventory. While MKK and MK2 from Russia are great platforms, they lean a bit on the fighter-bomber side.

Every profit earned by a Japanese company in China goes towards strengthening the Japanese nation and Japanese military. Those Chinese who talk about boycotting Japanese products are the same people who are often simply delaying their purchase of a Japanese product. This nonchalant snob attitude is the same reason why foreign companies control large market share percentages of certain Chinese industries even though Chinese products in some of these foreign dominated industries are not so inferior or substandard to warrant their market positions. If anything, Chinese nationalism should reflect in more ways than simply demonstrations and proclamations of loyalty and extend into concrete actions like....supporting domestic industries and stop worshiping foreign ones, especially enemies like Japan.

For yr info, most hot selling foreign car in china is german. In fact, i dont think japan product is popular in china all the while. Only thing dominate china will be japanese manga/comic.
