J-16 will not have significant airframe modifications from what I gathered. It is basically going to be a Su-30MK2 on steroids, similar to F-15E in U.S. Air Force. Since all JH-7 and Su-30 models belong to naval aviation, the PLAAF felt they lacked a credible multirole platform.

Wait Deino, but the aircraft doesn't has canard..., or has it? What is the different between J-15S and J-16 anyway?

It has the canard even if its barely visible ... in contrast to the J-16 the J-15S has a canard as, the J-15's shorter tail-sting + hook as well as broader but not as tall vertical tails.
