I agree, those could be other reasons but none of the F-16s will get replaced before 2040. That is a long time ahead and I would not even be surprised if PAF acquired surplus F-16s if given an opportunity.

F-16 blk52 yes could stay till 2040 but other version will be replaced way before 2040 by project azm ... All other f-16 a/b are much older fighters and cannot live that long specially without any upgrades

Probably the Chinese are only selling PL 15 to PAF with J-10.
That may be the only reason to buy J 10.
Otherwise thunder Block 3 was enough.

A lightweight fighter won't play the role of a medium role fighter. Why is hard for you folk to get it?
JF-17 alone could never completely replace F-16 in PAF inventory. It's simply incapable of handling the mission roles.
