ITBP jawans learn Chinese to avoid confusion with PLA

. . . . .
Mandarin is very difficult to learn and especially to any Indian,English is very easy to learn
Hindi.
& the best and easiest way to do is Watch some Bollywood movies.:p:

on a serious note, it is indeed commendable that both sides are making efforts to improve communication. This will go a long way in improving ground situation on border.

Hindi is not the language that tie India together. It's the English language. When 2 Indians has 2 different mother tongue, then they would communicate in English. That is why tech support is big inIndia.

Hindi is used just as much as English. Seriously, have you gone to some parts of India even?

It's a bit different in China.

I am a native Cantonese speaker (from Hong Kong), if I want to talk to someone from Northern China, I would speak in Mandarin.

English won't work in that situation since most Chinese people do not speak English. According to the statistics, only around 0.7% of the Chinese population speaks English.

India is not tied together by any language, it is tied together by a common culture, a common civilization, a common sense of purpose and destiny, a common identity.

When 2 Indians has 2 different mother tongue then they communicate with any know common language. Most Indians speak AT LEAST 2 languages if not 3 or 4. Amazing how Indians manage with such low IQ :P

Thats not a correct assumption. On ground and among common people Hindi is the single largest language and everyone understands it to some degree or other.
Owing to our education system, a lot of people are able to communicate in English and hence BPO being a big business in India and beyond that Hindi is perhaps the only language that any Indian is comfortable with even if it isn't his/her mother tongue.

I would really like to see all these people saying, English is what ties India together, to go to India and get around with English alone. Have fun with it.

Most of the people cant speak EngliSH in India. When two people from different states meet they talk in Hindi most of the time since it is understood by most of the people.

Because most movies are based on lives in Cities where people speak both Hindi and English and their mother tongue with equal ease. That is why you find words crossing over into Hindi and English.

Cause it's kinda in style. Forget bollywood, regional cinema do that same thing of adding English out of no where. But they'll never do that at home.
