This is a developing story.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 A.M.) – For the second time in 72 hours, the Israeli military has targeted the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in rural Damascus.

According to a military report, the Israeli forces fired at least seven missiles from Lebanon, scoring a direct hit with at least four of the missiles on a target in Jamraya.

The remaining three missiles were intercepted by the Syrian Air Defense above the West Ghouta region of Damascus.

It appears the primary target for the Israeli forces was a military outpost near the previous attack in the West Ghouta.

Report: Israel attacks military research center in Syria
Media affiliated with the Assad regime and Hezbollah report Israel fired 6 missiles at center in Jamraya on the outskirts of Damascus, with 3 intercepted by Syrian aerial defense.

Israel reportedly attacked a military scientific research center in the Jamraya area on the outskirts of Damascus late Monday night, according to media affiliated with the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

According to Al Mayadeen, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, Israel fired six missiles, with three of them intercepted by Syria's aerial defense systems.

So far, there have been no reports of casualties or damage.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported "violent explosions" shaking Damascus and its surrounding area caused by missiles fired by Israeli warplane and targeting places near Jamraya.

The Observatory, which cited unnamed sources, said there were also "flashes in the shelling area believed to be caused regime’s air defense launching its missiles to intercept."

This is the second attack in Syria attributed to Israel in recent days. On Friday night, Arab media reported Israel had attacked an Iranian military base in the al-Kiswah area.

The Jamraya area contains many military facilities as well as what is likely a chemical weapons production and storage site.

This isn't the first time Israel reportedly targeted the scientific research center in Jamraya. In 2013, the Syrians reported on two alleged Israeli strikes at the site.

The first attack in late January 2013 reportedly targeted a development center. The second attack in May 2013 targeted a shipment of Iranian Fateh-110 bound for Hezbollah

Why not all?

I am dissapointed, at least make it 100% at least in fairy tales.

Yeah you can't shoot those missiles down. And Israel is not retaliating, Syria or Iran have yet to respond. Really Iran should be expected to respond as it's their interest being targeted.

Buk sam system seems to have better interception rate against multiple air launched cruise missiles than other systems like Pantsyr which Russia should take into account just like upgrading her other systems with realtime lessons learned in Syria. However as Buk is guided semiactively by strong continious radar illumination over targets single battery can take out 3-5 cruise missiles and remaining ones seem to pass.
A shorad system that has active guidance with fire forget capability like ground based amraam having monopulse radar onboard the missile would be better against cruise missile batches or Buk later variants(maybe m3 has) should be updated with active guidance fireforget to engage more targets at once. In case of Buk it would become a swiss knife against aircraft cruise missiles and tactical bms.

In last 72 hours 7 interceptions and 7 anti air rockets were fired. I think a cold war era system is proving to be better than the most modern systems.

Syria says it intercepted 3 of 4 Israeli missiles fired at military facility near Damascus

BEIRUT – Syrian state media on Monday said Israel had fired missiles at a Syrian military facility in the Damascus countryside, adding that Syrian air defense systems had intercepted three of the missiles.

“Our air defenses are confronting an Israeli missile attack on one of our sites in the Damascus suburbs and three of the targets were downed,” state news agency SANA said, adding the attacks happened at 11:30 p.m. Monday.

A witness told Reuters late on Monday three strong explosions were heard from the direction of Jamraya, west of Damascus. Another witness said thick smoke could be seen rising over the area.

Jamraya contains a military research facility, which was hit by what was believed to have been an Israeli attack in 2013.

Israel in the past has targeted positions of Lebanon’s powerful Hezbollah group inside Syria where the Iran-backed group is heavily involved in fighting alongside the Syrian army.

On Saturday Syrian state media said Israeli missiles struck a military position south of Damascus, and in September Israel attacked a Syrian military site believed to be linked to chemical weapons production.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said they do not comment on foreign reports.

War monitor the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, from its sources, said planes believed to be Israeli had fired missiles into the Jamraya area.

I sense a war coming very soon. The US and Israelis are restless and want to start something.
Youhave quote right. But this is a powder keg with Iranians and Russians in there. Is real will want to get I ran involved and usa to deal with then as that's the ultimate Israeli goal. Will Russia allow it?
