Israel bans Norwegian doctor from Gaza for life

All local Norwegians are criticizing this decision as well and hopefully with enough pressure exerted on Israel, would eventually overturn this decision. Lets hear what Israelis of PDF have to say about this:

My friend, for future reference: while I would be honored to stand among them, I am not Israeli (which is why I didn't reply in that other thread). I hold no other citizenship than American, but it's no secret that I'm pro-Israel.

If you would like my opinion, though, I agree with the decision to ban this physician. He is an activist first, and a physician second. There are other physicians who go to do a job (saving lives) and don't seek the spotlight, but this Mads Gilbert fellow is clearly exploiting tragedy for political reasons. He's not interested in victims of conflict. He's only interested in Palestinian victims of conflict, which makes him just one more sectarian player. Moreover (no offense to those of you in this profession), but he's just an anesthesiologist, which is far less critical than some of the other specialties required in Gaza.

Should Israel impose a blanket ban on foreign physicians entering Gaza, I would join you in condemnation. But this man is neither necessary nor desirable in a region that needs less hysterical propaganda, not more. He can just as easily propagandize from Turkey with all of his Hamas friends as he can from Gaza. In fact, Turkey may pay him a stipend for his efforts.

I don't give a crap about Hamas or Fatah. What I care about is for Palestine to become a sovereign nation and for peace to prevail. I want to take a flight from Jeddah to Jerusalem for instance. The Palestinian people have suffered enough. Most Palestinians have no say in what their leadership is doing or have done. It's a few people deciding the faith of several million people.
Well, Palestinians are victims of their own leaders exactly like most other ME people. That's really true in a big extent for all ME.
If people have problem with Hazzy997 (I don't agree with him politically either nor do I understand why he likes the MB so much) here then wage the anger at him. The millions of other Palestinians have nothing to do with his actions here on PDF. We represent ourselves.
Hazzy has given Palestinian a bad name in this forum and made neutral people against Palestinians. Well, we have another Palestinian in this forum, who uses Jordanian flag, and he is not similar to Hazzy at all, which means not every Palestinian is like Hazzy or aka bigot Hamas supporters. They need to let sane normal Palestinians decide on their own, and not to impose themselves on others.

@Norwegian

Off-topic;

Do you guys have the equivalent of DR2 in Norway? Or the program "Deadline" were domestic politics and international events are discussed? For me Norwegian is easier to understand than Swedish but we know why that is. Century old Danish rule of Norway. Written Bokmål is very similar to Standard Danish.

Barbarism of Israeli state knows no bounds.

Now saving children's lives is "security threat" for Israel.

Internet and social media has changed everything. Israel can treat Palestinians like Germans treated the people they occupied (Polish, French etc)---but what Germans did remained unknown to rest of humanity until much later. Israel, in his treatment of Palestinians, is not so lucky. We all know the oppression of Israeli colonialism in West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza.

Everyone but Israel is looking and hoping for a two-state solution based on 67 borders. But Israel continuously acts to make any solution impossible.

Mads Gilbert has openly leftist-leanings. He is part of many leftist organisations here in Norway. It is one of the main reasons why he never criticizes Hamas terrorism but blames Israel all the time.
Leftists actually dont do that!

Mads Gilbert has been working in Gaza for the past 28 years. Its first time he has been denied entry via Israel on security grounds. Also its not true that he has been banned for life. Israeli Ambassador for Norway confirmed it here to Norwegian national channel NRK here:
Well that is how media works ;)

The only thing English media is reporting is Norway will challenge the ban...

Palestinians as most Arab people when you get to know them are very open, hospitable and lovely people. I can say that I am yet to met a rude Palestinian and you have Palestinians almost in every country nowadays. The Christian community is also lovely.

The only thing I dislike is the entitlement that some of them feel and that they expect unconditional support, especially from fellow Arabs. Otherwise I do not have much bad to say about them. That criticism that I have labelled against them is bound in their situation for the last 66+ years. Every people would feel the same.

Anyway people can think what they want to. It's their choice after all. It's just wrong to turn against Palestine just because of a teenager like Hazzy on a anonymous forum.

Now don't kill me when you return Hazzy.

Yeah the countries heaving "Control by force".... which is wrong...! Deep down in your heart you know its wrong but you will never accept it ....
Deep Down in My heart, I know and understand that how geography changes and how it works with the time. The only point is my theory does not match to yours so there is nothing to accept. "Truth is one's perspective."

Whats the fuss is about? He can enter in Gaza from Egypt anytime. I personally dont want these kind of people stepping on my country soil.

.
Why does Israel even decide who can enter Gaza or not? It's not Israeli territory to begin with. Every humanitarian worker has their own opinions and he is not the only one that has voiced his opinions. He has just a reputation by now and the Israeli regime considers him damaging to Israel. Would Israel ban those humanitarian workers that praised Israel for their war crimes against Gaza this Summer? Can you even find 1 single humanitarian worker that does that? You can't.

Well, Shia's of all nationalities are protesting almost each year during hajj and umrah in Makkah. Plenty of videos available online. But this has nothing to do with the topic though and the situations are completely different.

Besides Israel is supposed to be the only true democracy in the ME. KSA is not a democracy and has never claimed to be that. Apples and oranges.

P.S: I did not elect my leaders (like the Israelis) just like the British people did not elect their monarchy. So I am innocent of any political move by KSA. In other words I have not sanctioned their actions. I can agree with them or not. That's another thing altogether.

Until there is a separate Palestinian State, Israel controls the entry rights. From a legal standpoint, what I have said is correct.

.
On Original Point, I totally agree with @Syed.Ali.Haider . You are a doctor and you are suppose to do your Humanitarian work and not make political statements unless you are authorized to do so. Remember always, It is always a privilege by a country to allow you to enter in their administered area and if you are fuming them then that privilege will be gone irrespective of how correct you are.

Like it or not, that is the legally correct position.

I fully support my government in this case. Foreign 'peace activists' are not welcome here, and if they want to enter Gaza they should turn to Egypt and use the Rafah crossing.
