Islamic State kills two Chinese teachers kidnapped in Pakistan

The Islamic State has killed two Chinese citizens it kidnapped from Quetta city of southwest Pakistan last month, the militant group’s Amaq agency said on Thursday.

Armed men pretending to be policemen kidnapped the Chinese language teachers – a man and a woman – from the upmarket Jinnah Town area of Quetta on May 24.

“Islamic State fighters kill two Chinese people they had been holding in Balochistan province, southwest Pakistan,” Amaq said. The Chinese nationals were being held in Mastung district, the same area where the Pakistan Army conducted an operation against the IS during June 1-3.

A third Chinese national managed to evade the kidnappers while a passerby was shot in the foot when he tried to intervene.

In an effort to trace the kidnapped Chinese nationals, the Pakistan Army conducted an operation in Mastung area against the IS and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al-Almi, a banned terror group that has close links with the IS.

The Pakistan Army said on Thursday it had dismantled IS infrastructure in Balochistan and killed 12 terrorists, including two suicide bombers, during the operation conducted on actionable intelligence.

“The successful operation by security forces in Mastung denied establishment of any direct or indirect ISIS organised infrastructure in Balochistan (province of) Pakistan, also foiled terrorist incidents in Pakistan,” an army statement said.

The statement was silent on the fate of the kidnapped Chinese nationals.

China condemned the kidnapping, saying it “attaches high importance to the safety of Chinese citizens overseas” and the state-run media had said the abduction “highlights risks” associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

A large number of Chinese nationals, most of them associated with projects that are part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, are based in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan, including Gwadar port.

In November last year, two Chinese engineers were killed by unidentified assailants in Pasni district of Balochistan. Two more Chinese engineers were killed in a roadside blast in Hub district last September.

Extremely saddened...We all know who is behind this?

Pakistanis will learn Chinese language and vice versa...U can't stop people to people interaction by killing us....

RIP to Chinese folks...U blood has been shed on our soil...U are our heroes ...

Hostile forces attempt to use this stupid behavior to undermine the feelings of the people of China and Pakistan

It is absolutely impossible to achieve!

We should start hunting isis goons in afganistan, usa and India is helping them to target cpec inside pakistan

China needs to send in it military and do counter-terrorism. especially with all the money they are investing into CPEC and hundreds of thousands of Chinese nationals that will be living and working in Pakistan.

China has to protect it's citizens and national interests.

That will happen soon- I just hope China doesn't drag its feet-

cpec should involve Pakistan citizens to avoid chinese citizens killings

ISIS killings is everywhere on the globe, from Jakarta to London, from Paris to Marawi, from Nigeria to Balochistan, let's not forget Syrian and Iraqi are suffering everyday. Sending soldiers is easy, getting out is hard, eradicating root of ISIS is the goal. I believe something more thorough is needed, wish heads of states come up with a concrete plan in the upcoming SCO summit.

There is no point in killing just foot soilders. The likes of Ajeet Doval and his counterparts in mossad and cia must get lead through their heads to have the right effect. The red lines must be drawn with blood of those who matter, not just some rag tag foot soilders who are taking orders from these people.

ISIS is in your backyard and you are blaming India.

Pakistani concept of good terrorists and bad terrorists are responsible for this mess. How else would you explain ISIS terrorists in pakistani territories.

isis is everywhere.

isis are terrorists.

It is the American who is the biggest sponsor behind the well-known ISIS:angry:

America with its cheif of intelligence gave a threat last week against CPEC and they along with their regional allies executed the threat as well.

Let's see how ISI and MSS respond to this.

but this is Chinese nationals we are talking about. China is investing $100+billion in Pakistan and more and more Chinese are coming to Pakistan to live and work. If Pakistan isn't able to defeat ISIS then China must step in and do it for them or in tandem.

but with your thinking like most Chinese what is the death of a few Chinese here and there.

No. No foreign military should be allowed to deploy in an independent country unless China is invited. I think Syria can be considered.
