Coming UN session would be a good opportunity for further back room talks.

Seems this suggestion was made keeping UAE and Saudi interests in mind, in choosing sides (concretely not figuratively) they either face loss of business or comaraderie.

The nature of diplomatic engagement between two neighbouring countries is different from geographically distant ones. They have some unique pragmatic executive decision making on both sides, i.e there are layers of bureaucracy across departments which by pragmatic necessity have to communicate with their counterpart on the other side, this is where back room negotiations are ideally conducted.

We don't know what's cooking, publically neither side will back down from it's narrative, behind the scenes though, not so much.

It's a tough situation, they're citing security reasons which are also a valid concern. The communication lockdown is temporary, it's not like they are going to go the DPRK way.

There are loud and opposing voices to the current govt everywhere in India, Kashmiris will soon be back among them.

India only uses tear gas, pellets, chili grenades, water cannons and other non lethal means to control crowds in Kashmir. Security excesses are regretted but the army is also fighting some very dangerous well armed/trained militants.

Calm down, no one said anything about surrender, its only saying there should be talks. As far as the question of "who they think they are" goes, please read up on the financial help they gave before IMF deal was made. When the day comes where we give them financial help or at the very least we dont ask them for help, then you can talk big all you want

I think the establishment is being too soft on the former kings of Punjab and Sindh, now that their in jail they should be tortured until they give back the nations looted wealth, which could be put to good use in these troubling times. There cannot be any talks behind the scenes, just for the economic benefit of a few Oil sheikhs, this is our nations red line, compromising today will destabilize our country in the near future, when they play the water card, which they will. And on a humanitarian prospective why should we accommodate the uncivilised dog next door, for what his doing to the Kashmiri's?
