New Delhi, March 7 (IANS) Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf Saturday accused India of whipping up war hysteria after the Mumbai terrorist attacks and asked the intelligence agencies of both countries to stop the path of confrontation for the sake of peace in the subcontinent.

“Both ISI (Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence) and RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) must stop their confrontationist path. Your RAW does exactly what ISI does,” he said in his characteristically blunt remarks.

He was addressing a conclave organised here by the India Today magazine.

.“The past has been dirty. But we should stop the blame game and move beyond history,” he said. “We must have done tremendous damage to each other.”

He accused India of whipping up mass hysteria after the Mumbai attacks and for targeting the Pakistani Army and the ISI for extremism in the region.

“Let’s address issues and disputes with a new approach,” he said.

Calling for “an attitudinal change” among people and the governments for better relations, Musharraf exhorted the two countries to “move beyond the burden of history” and jointly combat common problems like extremism and terrorism.

i want to believe that but 'kya karun dil hai ki manta nahin' bcoz isn't he the same guy, who was general of pakistani army during kargil war:azn:

I think after listening to him he is ready for politics the way he answered. He was very candid, calm and cool. I hope there is a Pakistan left before the next elections. We are the only country who don't need enemies our politician's will destroy the country. Millions showed up for Nawaz speech and it was all a call to the supporters to come out and screw the country. It is sad for people like me Sir Fatman, Xman, Airbus, Sir BZ, Sir MK. That why did we sacrifice or put ourselves into harms way for what. I hope and pray that Pakistan gets a good leader and our name Pakistan is respected all over the world.

.
Better relation wat the ****....

Man trying to invade India with impotent pak army saying these words.....

i want to believe that but 'kya karun dil hai ki manta nahin' bcoz isn't he the same guy, who was general of pakistani army during kargil war:azn:

Do you guys actually use your brains or just right what others say. Have you listened to him he himself took out 20 bad thing about Pakistan and what he said about ISI & RAW is right, Its always been TIT for TAT.

.
He is correct, and I can understand why honorable Mr. MuradK gets the feeling that all his efforts and the efforts of our soldiers were and are invein because our own politicians are destroying our country.
I do hope Musharraf gets back into politics and can wield his influence in our nation once again, we need people like him.

Change attitude towards Pakistan, Musharraf tells India

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India and Pakistan must change the way they treat each other and bury a "dirty past" to tackle growing militancy in the region together, Pakistan's former President Pervez Musharraf said on Saturday.

"The past has been dirty, the past has been bad, but don't put the blame on Pakistan," Musharraf said at a media event in New Delhi late on Saturday. "You tried to do damage to us, we were not sitting idle, we tried to damage you."

He said both countries were to be blamed for decades of mistrust and dispute, but now need to move ahead.

"There is a need for attitudal change, more in India less in Pakistan," the former army general said, referring to India's regular allegations that Pakistan's spy agency, the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), and the Pakistan army were behind militant strikes in India.

Pakistan and India have fought three wars since independence from Britain in 1947 and came to the brink of a fourth after gunmen attacked the Indian parliament in December 2001.

India also paused talks on a peace process between the two countries after it blamed Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba for the Mumbai attacks last November in which nearly 170 people died.

India says its nuclear-armed rival has done little to clamp down on militant activity on its soil.

Musharraf asked India to stop what he described as "Pakistan bashing" and instead urged New Delhi to help the ISI and Pakistan's army fight militancy in the region.

"Help the Pakistan army and the ISI to tackle them (militants) and please don't malign them," the former army chief said, adding that Pakistan's army and the ISI wanted peace with India.

The former president, who stepped down in August last year, said the army and the ISI were the best bets to fight the growing influence of the Taliban and militancy in Pakistan.

"Please don't create misunderstanding in the world against the ISI and the army," he said.

Pakistani authorities have been criticized after gunmen fired at the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore on Tuesday.

"Pakistan is critical under the present circumstances to fight terrorism and extremism, Pakistan is critical to bring peace in the region," Musharraf said.

The former army general said the solution to end militancy in the region lay in finding a peaceful solution for Kashmir.

I hope that Mr. Muradk isn't suggesting another dictator to run the country and I think that the only way to express our griviences to the president is by showing for our cause I hope that their is no violence and i hope we get good leaders but that can only happen when we have good citizens as well as people who understand their rights.

As for Musharraf he was a very mixed man had he really been a true leader he would have allowed Pakistan to have been a separate nation not an echo of America.

He knows very well that India or Pakistan would never stop this tit for tat and ISI or RAW won't just stop trying to out do each other.

I enjoyed listening to the conclave speech yesterday. It was a frank speech and an even more candid question and answer session. It was gesture of goodwill to have come to India. Not that he didnot face andy criticism.

After listening to the entire speech, I can tell you he appreciated India's diplomatic approach. He accepted that there are terror camps inside *** operating against India. Yes he did say India should have not kicked up the hysteria, but he also criticized the flip flops in Pakistan government's response to India's allegation.

To summarize, it was an extremely frank session. It was not India-bashinig or Pakistan-bashing. It was India-Pakistan misconception clearing kinda session. You should try and see all vidoes of that session availible on the internet. Its a must for both Indians and Pakistanis alike.

I can understand what you are saying but tell me which Government in Pakistan has not been under Uncle SAM. Easy for you to say buddy you don't live in Pakistan. Running a country is not an easy job Specially a Country like Pakistan. There are a lot of things you have to give up or sacrifice to make your country safe and strong at the same time making sure not to piss someone who is 20 times bigger than you. Echo of USA was there when Zia was in Power, BiBI , Nawaz , Musharaf and now Zardari. But Zardari is Screwing the country from left right and center and that needs to be
stopped .
