What's new

Is RAW really Blowing up everything in Pakistan , a Flashback to its Past in Pak.

This is not the thread to for that discussion.

Small sample is your Ajmal Kasab.

Ajmal Kassab has no roots or family history in Pakistan and his Pakistani identity is still debated. He appears to me one of those disgruntled members of jihadi teams who fradently gained Pakistani identity cards thorough forged documents and identity hijacks. If he really came from rural Pakistan then considering strong family fabric of rural Pakistan we ought to find his parents, mamoo, chacha, tiya, etc etc etc..

There are many disgruntled Indian muslims from Hydrabad and Kerala who collaborate with Pakistan based milltant groups or in some cases double agents of Pakistani intelliegence. Gulf countries are ripe with such agents and act as hub for all there exchanges. Same can be said vice versa for disgruntled Pakistanis collaborating with India against state. India allies with one of our most anti-state party aka MQM which has managed to keep Indian identity and sentiments alive among its migrant youth even after 60 years. In dirty game of war and politics no side is an angel. We need to erase this image that X is better than Y or X is a victim of Y.

The following day, The Observer and the BBC Urdu service supported the claim. The Observer stated that it had found Ajmal Amir's parents in the electoral record for "Faridkot, near Depalpur" containing 478 registered voters, and described comments from villagers about Ajmal Amir and about the village being "an active recruiting ground" for Lashkar-e-Taiba.[2][3] The BBC also reported confirmation from local villagers and the presence of numerous intelligence officials at Ajmal Amir's family's house.[4]

Why does he admit being from pakistan and member of LET moments after his capture?

firstly give our 300 crores which were given to u in 1947:cheesy::cheesy:

Deduct the 300 crores from the money share that was not transferred by State Bank of India, plus the share of ammunition for Pakistan 50% or so was not given to Pakistan, so in the end you owe us 400 crores, so add that with the current amount and cash will be fine. No Indian currency please. Pakistan Rupee, Chinese Yaun, Euro and US $ will be OK.

Wow keep it up..I think the sum is not right.
300 crore then the interest, Mm lets see how much it's gonna be

A Dire Need to counter RAW Terrorism.

It is now an established fact that no South Asian state has ever indulged in covert operations or cross border terrorism against its neighbors. The only culprit is India which resorts to this evil practice against all its neighbors, be it Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan, China and Myanmar. It has dovetailed clandestine operations into its war strategy to apply it against its foes during peace time for harassment, intimidation and blackmailing purposes and for weakening them from within.

Afghanistan has been used by Russia and India to raise the bogey of Pashtunistan, render support to Pakistani runaways and rebels and to launch covert operations against Pakistan. Karzai has belatedly assured Pakistan that it would not allow its soil against Pakistan. Hopefully he sticks to his commitment. Marching orders given by Karzai to his intelligence chief and interior minister, both venomously anti-Pakistan and favorites of Washington are positive signs though some more steps are needed to scatter away clouds of distrust built over nine years.

The US military has starting packing its bags to wind up its business in Afghanistan and go home starting July 2011. The US and Karzai’s tilt towards Islamabad are ominous developments for India vying to have complete sway over Afghan affairs after the departure of coalition forces. The entire Indian leadership is in a state of depression. Its spin doctors are at a loss but are still scratching their heads how to retrieve the situation. Indians are feeling out of place since they are akin to traits of a scorpion which stings compulsively.

Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and Home Minister Chidambaram were here in Islamabad to renew talks. An Indo-Pak talk is a drama staged by India at the behest of USA. India loses all and gains nothing out of composite dialogue, which she had purposely stalled after Mumbai attacks. She stubbornly clung to her one-point agenda of no talks without Pakistan tackling India’s concerns about terrorism. After intense pressure from USA, stuck in Afghanistan and urgently requiring Pakistan’s services for a bailout, India has reluctantly relented and agreed to resume talks. However, the entire focus of talks was on terrorism.

Chronic issues such as Kashmir dispute, Siachin and Sir Creek problems, water problem, RAW’s support to terrorists in Balochistan and in FATA were skipped. India wants solution to Kashmir as suggested by former President Gen Musharraf. It had been mutually decided to sideline UN resolutions on Kashmir, convert Line of Control (LoC) into soft border and to put the dispute in cold freezer as had been done during Simla Agreement in 1973.

But for lawyers movement which weakened Musharraf, the sellout plan would have been implemented in 2008. It is for this reason that Indian leaders fondly remember Musharraf and pray for his return.

President Zardari was also in favor of this plan as was evident from several statements he had made on Kashmir and the so-called ‘good news’ he wanted to give to the nation. Had the Army under Gen Kayani not taken a firm stand and had Zardari not lost his reputation and credibility, he would have given a go ahead signal to the plan.

Zardari’s inability to open up nuclear program for US and IAEA inspection, bring ISI under Interior Ministry and to implement Indian dictated Kashmir solution has disappointed USA and India. To twist his arm, he is off and on subjected to barrage of vilification campaign, most of which is based on facts.

Pakistan had been led up the garden path by India through much hyped composite dialogue in early 2004. It was pledged that all issues including Kashmir would be resolved through dialogue. Four rounds of talks were held but nothing concrete came out of the meetings. While Pakistan lost a lot, India gained a lot.

Under the garb of friendship, India successfully completed fencing of LoC, defanged armed resistance in Held Kashmir, redirected all Jihadi outfits towards Pakistan, made Balochistan, FATA and large parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa restive, lowered the image of Pak Army and other institutions through propaganda campaign, consolidated tentacles of RAW within Pakistan, disturbed law and order situation, built several dams over rivers Chenab, Jhelum and Indus and reduced flow of water into Pakistan.

India not only enhanced its presence in Afghanistan significantly but also spread hatred amongst Afghans against Pakistan to keep the two neighbors perpetually hostile to each other. Through these acts, it impoverished the economy of Pakistan.

While preaching friendship, Indian military feverishly built up its strength and former Indian chief Gen Kapoor hurled threats of Cold Start and limited war under a nuclear overhang. Pakistan quietly digested all the insults and harms inflicted upon the body of Pakistan under the skewed policy of appeasement and under a misperception that Kashmir issue would be resolved. In return, India didn’t budge an inch over any of the disputes and continued to maintain its pre-2004 rigid stance on all issues. It showed its ugly face after Mumbai carnage and reverted to its old policy of antagonism.

Having gained on all fronts, India is unprepared to dole out any concession to Pakistan. It still wants more from Pakistan. It wants Pakistan not to oppose its key role in Afghanistan, its right for a land route to Afghanistan via Wagah, and its membership to UNSC. It also wants Punjab based banned Jihadi groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jamat-ud-Dawa, Jaish Mohammad and Sipah-Sahaba to be crushed and Muredke religious centre to be dismantled.

India is keen to extend physical support to help Pak security forces to tackle these outfits. Punjab being the only stable province, it has become an eyesore for India and it desperately wants its destabilization. The likes of Salman Taseer and RAW sponsored Tehrik-e-Taliban are helping India in its nefarious designs.

RAW is among the leading terrorist organization which is bleeding South Asia but surprisingly no finger has ever been raised on it. The US and western think tanks and newspapers never tire of concocting stories against ISI but see RAW, Mossad and CIA chaste and spotless. This is because they are birds of same feather and are flocking together in pursuit of common objectives.

Pakistan and other South Asian countries have remained the victims of intrigues and conspiracies of India for the last 63 years. It pretends to be well meaning and friendly but it always carries a dagger under its armpit and strikes whenever opportunity comes its way. It is principally responsible for impeding the growth of SAARC because of its habit of hegemony and selfishness. It is high time for SAARC countries minus India to get together and collectively combat the Indian menace. Awareness drive should be initiated by Pakistan to expose true face of India.

I propose immediate establishment of a joint intelligence centre at Islamabad or Colombo on the pattern of the one working in Jabal-al-Siraj, north of Kabul. Both are well trained in the art of counter terrorism and have successfully fought RAW sponsored terrorism.

The new intelligence setup should have tentacles in all the affected South Asian countries to share intelligence and monitor activities of home based and foreign based terrorists, spies and double agents. Assistance of China may be sought or it may be co-opted. Intelligence Centre should maintain close liaison with intelligence agencies of selected Muslim states which follow independent foreign policies and are not close to India.

Intelligence can be exchanged with CIA, FBI and MI-6 prudently and on need basis only.
Besides, a joint media and publicity cell should be opened to counter Indo-US-Israeli propaganda. In addition, each country should raise a counter terrorism force fully equipped with requisite firepower, mobility and technology superior to what the terrorists possess to be able to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt supply routes and sources of funding. Collective efforts should be made to beat RAW in its own game.

Research and Analysis Wing

RAW, along with Mossad, are believed to be operating within the UK. It is said that their advice as to the probable occurance of the London bombings went unheeded. RAW is understood to have infiltered many fanatical British Moslem groups – hopefully greater cogniscance of their reports will be observed by the UK authorities.

The Cabinet Secretariat Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is India's premier external intelligence body. It was created as an independent unit in 1968 from the Intelligence Bureau which at that time handled both internal and external intelligence. It's headquarters are on Lodhi Road in New Delhi. The current director of the organization is P K Hormese Tharakan, who was with RAW from 1989 to 2001, and is an IPS officer.

Profile, Structure and Funding

Most available information about the RAW is largely speculative. Relative to other intelligence agencies of comparable size, the RAW maintains a very low media profile and is largely ignored by Indian writers, filmmakers and the general public.

It reports directly to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and its operations and structure are not revealed to Parliament. Even its name and legal status are rather unusual - unlike the CIA, the RAW is not an "agency", but a "wing" of the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India responsible for "research" (gathering of raw intelligence) and "analysis" (organizing information and drawing conclusions for presentation to the PMO).

The RAW's budget and funding are not discussed in public forums. According to some reports, part of its funding comes from "discretionary grants" provided to various government bodies, especially Indian embassies and representatives abroad. Estimates of its annual budget vary wildly among experts - from $16 million to $145 million.

One consequence of such a low profile is that it is very difficult to judge RAW's effectiveness and performance. Reports cover the entire range of judgements from "highly effective and professional" to "inadequate and riddled with internal politics".

The cadre for RAW is drawn by deputation from state police forces and other intelligence agencies. The Research Analysis Service instituted during the times of Indira Gandhi is the All India Level Service of RAW.

In the past several decades it is widely known that the Indian Research and Analysis Wing ("RAW") and Israeli Mossad have cultivated a deep and fruitful bond of collaboration against Islamic terrorism in the region,in particular Pakistan, while the American CIA and Indian RAW have joined forces with regards to the insidious threats and expansionist nature of Chinese Communism.

Activities - Scope and Limits

The RAW is rumored to have around 12,000 agents in neighboring countries. Countries that have had past hostilities with India are also watched. It also provides assistance to interest groups that are able to promote India's national interests overseas. The RAW does not determine foreign policy - that is the job of the elected government.

Initially, Pakistan was a primary Target of RAW's activities, though this is reportedly diluting in recent years, as India seeks an enlarged role in world affairs. This, together with India's attempts to "decouple" itself from Pakistan among world leaders, is said to have given RAW increased tasks beyond Pakistan.

Pakistan, however claims that as many as 35,000 RAW agents were in Pakistan at point of time. Naturally, specific focus areas can at best be speculated by studying India's foreign policy pronouncements. An important outcome of the Gujral government in 1997 was the decision not to significantly increment and rather stop all support for separatists groups in Pakistan which in turn carry out terrorist attacks on civilians and government installation on behalf of the Indian government.

That said, RAW still closely monitors a large number of anti-India groups and training camps in Pakistani territory. Being an external intelligence agency, the RAW, however, does not operate in the troubled region of Kashmir - that comes under the purview of the IB.

An important element in India's external intelligence activities has been combating Terrorist groups in neighbouring countries and supporting pro-India groups. The depth of RAW's support in these activities, however, are not known and is under speculation.

As per convention, the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) under the Cabinet Secretariat is responsible for co-ordinating and analyzing intelligence activities between RAW, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA). In practice, however, the effectiveness of the JIC has been varied. With the establishment of the National Security Council in 1999, the role of the JIC has been merged with the NSC.

Secretary

The chief of the RAW is designated Secretary (R) in the Cabinet Secretariat, which is part of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Understandably, there is not a lot of information available about this position, or its occupants. Most of the occupants have been experts on either Pakistan or China. They also have the benefit of training in either US or the UK, and more recently in Israel.

The Secretary (R) reports on an administrative basis to the Cabinet Secretary, who reports to the Prime Minister (PM). However, on a daily basis the Secretary (R) reports to the National Security Advisor.
Past Secretaries:

Rameshwar Nath Kao, 1969-77 , First Director K. Sankaran Nair 1977-78
N. Santook 1978-80 S.C. Joshi 1980-83
Girish Chandra ('Gary') Saxena, 1983-86 A.K. Verma (1986-1989)
G.S. Bajpai (1989-1991) N. Narasimhan (1991-1993)
R.S. Bedi (1993-1994) A.S. Syali (1994-1996)
Ranjan Roy (1996-1997) Arvind Dave, 1997-1999, 12th Director
A S Dulat, 1999-2000, 13th Director Vikram Sood, 2001-2003, 14th Director
C D Sahay, 2003-2005, 15th Director P K H Tharakan, 2005-Present, 16th & Current Director

Organization Structure

Reporting to the Secretary are:

• Two Special Secretaries and one Special Director of the ARC, the Aviation Research Centre, which is responsible for topographic surveillance using aircraft and satellite imagery.

• Four Additional Secretaries, responsible for different geographical regions.

• A large number (above 40) Joint Secretaries, who are the functional heads of various desks.

Operations
Thought to be particularly active in Pakistan, the RAW is known to have gathered massive amounts of data on the Pakistani establishment and its military.

Pakistan alleges that the RAW also sponsored sectarian and separatist groups in Pakistan, for example the Seraiki and Baluch nationalists movements in Baluchistan.

It is often alleged by Pakistan that the RAW was instrumental in obtaining independence for Bangladesh. Covert operations against the ruling East Pakistan government were carried out by aiding recalcitrant groups such as the Mukti Bahini. This culminated in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, resulting in Bangladesh's independence from Pakistan.

Since 1981, the RAW was rumored to have actively played a role in Sri Lanka supporting Tamil separatist groups like the LTTE. There is controversy that RAW was helping and arming the LTTE even when Indian peace keeping forces where still fighting LTTE.

This backfired as the LTTE became more engaged with separatist groups in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. After 1986, following a policy change by the Indian government, this assistance was withdrawn and the RAW put the LTTE and similar groups under surveillance. Again, there is very little concrete evidence to support these speculations.

In 1996 a foreign diplomat was implicated in a scandal in the US for providing illegal funding to political candidates in the US.

In 1999, RAW came under heavy censure in India for its failure to detect the infiltration of a large number of foreign guerrillas into the mountains of Kargil, Kashmir.

The RAW has provided significant amounts of intelligence on Osama bin Laden and the Taliban to its American counterpart, the CIA, after the September 11 incident in 2001.

In 2004, the RAW uncovered a senior officer allegedly working for the CIA, but failed to prevent his defection to the US. This caused a minor media uproar in India, focussing on RAW's sluggishness in responding to signals and evidence of infiltration.

There has also been criticism for its failure to detect the coup of General Musharaf in Pakistan (Oct 1999) and King Gyanendra in Nepal (Jan 2005). Although it is believed that it was able to foresee the intent of General Pervez Musharraf to become the president of Pakistan.

This speculation is fueled by the fact that then Prime minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee had congratulated the general as the president even before taking the oath.

An explosion at Shaukat Khanum Hospital on 14 April 1996, claimed the lives of seven persons and injured to over 34 others.

A bus traveling from Lahore to Sahiwal was blown up at Bhai Pheru on 28 April 1996, causing the deaths of 44 persons on the spot and injuring 30 others.

An explosion in a bus near the Sheikhupura hospital killed 9 persons and injured 29 others on 08 May 1996.
An explosion near Alam chowk, Gujranwala on 10 June 1996 killed 3 persons and injured 11 others.

A bomb exploded on a bus on GT Road near Kharian on 10 June 1996, killing 2 persons and injuring 10 others.
On 27 June 1996, an explosion opposite Madrassah Faizul Islam, Faizabad, Rawalpindi, killed 5 persons and injured over 50 others.

A bomb explosion in the Faisalabad railway station passenger lounge on 08 July 1996 killed 3 persons and injured 20 others.

RAW allegedly executed a hijacking of an Indian Airliner to Lahore in 1971 which was attributed to the Kashmiris, to give a terrorist dimension to the Kashmiri national movement. However soon the extent of RAW's involvement was made public.

RAW is a rogue and terrorist outfit
Mon, 2009-09-28 02:26 — editor

India has a contaminated history of interfering into the internal affairs of all its neighbours. Driven by its hegemonic mindset to emerge as the unchallenged power of South Asia, India has all along striven to force South Asian states to accept Indian hegemony and never hesitated from resorting to economic strangulation or political blackmail or even naked force to achieve its nefarious designs.

Other than adopting coercive and Chanakyan tactics, its infamous RAW has been indulging in series of battles of intrigues and secret wars to subvert and destabilize South Asian states in consonance with foreign policy objectives of India.. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sikkim, Bhutan, Tibet and Myanmar are its victims of machinations. After identifying vulnerabilities of target country it subtly accentuates political polarization, ethnic and sectarian strife and sense of deprivation among backward provinces. With the help of cultivated criminal and anti-state elements it foments subversion, terrorism and sabotage.

After creating Bangladesh in 1971, RAW continued with its covert operations in the newborn country by injecting dissension among political parties, religious sects and armed forces. It instigated Chakmas in Chittagong Hills against the regime, trained and equipped the rebels and supported their insurgency. It also created and trained Shanti Bahini to carryout subversive activities. RAW had a hand in assassination of Gen Ziaur Rehman in 1981, who was pro-Pakistan and unfavorably disposed towards secularism. Sikkim, Nepal and Bhutan being landlocked were coerced and made totally dependent on India through machinations of RAW.

RAW was instrumental in creating LTTE. India had not forgiven Colombo for allowing Pakistani aircraft and ships to use its ports for transporting war needs to the beleaguered Pak troops in East Pakistan. LTTE was a lifelong cancer given by India to Sri Lanka to keep the government compliant. Huge amounts were pumped in for stoking Tamil insurgency which simmered for almost three decades. Sri Lankan forces were fortunate to ultimately crush Tamil Tigers in August 2009 and restore normalcy in restive Jaffna Peninsula. In 1998, RAW orchestrated an attack on Maldives and then dispatched an expeditionary force to help the beleaguered President Gayoom. Idea was to project India as the policeman of the region. RAW has been abetting armed insurrections in Nepal to create internal strife and conflicts and compel Nepalese government to buy Indian weaponry to control trouble. Maoists were instigated to rebel so as to give India an excuse to intervene militarily under the garb of controlling insurrection. Nepal economy is wholly in the hands of Indian moneylenders and business magnates.

India has gone to war with Pakistan three times since Pakistan is its chief adversary and a stumbling block in the way of its expansionist designs. For the fulfilment of its evil plan of cutting Pakistan to size, RAW was created in 1968 and mandated to subvert the eastern province and to create conditions favourable for launching military instrument. It played a key role in poisoning the minds of Bengalis and in straining east-west relations and making East Pakistan chaotic. After cutting Pakistan into two, RAW continued with its subversive activities in other parts of Pakistan and has struck its foundations repeatedly. In league with KGB and KHAD, it lent support to Baloch insurgents in Balochistan in 1970s. Failing to achieve any success, RAW shifted its attention towards Sindh and by end of 1980s succeeded in creating deep-seated antagonism between rural and urban Sindhis and making the whole province volatile. It succeeded in enrolling an extensive network of agents and in inculcating ideas of separatism. Throughout Afghan war, RAW in conjunction with KGB, KHAD and Al-Zulfiqar, indulged in sabotage and subversion to destabilize Pakistan. Victory of Mujahideen in Afghanistan and demise of Soviet Union caused a major setback to Indian plans. Military operation in Sindh in 1992 followed by police action in Karachi in 1995-1996 checkmated ulterior Indian designs. To add to their woes, acquisition of nuclear capability by Pakistan minimized option of open war.

9/11 paved the way for RAW to conduct covert operations against Pakistan in league with CIA, MI-6, RAAM and Mossad. It is using Afghan soil for carrying out massive terrorist activities against Balochistan, FATA and Swat. Zahidan too is being used for destabilisation of Balochistan. From India, only Shahgarh-Kishangarh route is under use to supply arms to dissidents in rural Balochistan. Short but focused operation in Balochistan took the heat out of Baloch insurgency. Full-fledged military operation in Bajaur and in Swat in July-August 2008 and again in Malakand Division in April 2009 defeated RAW sponsored militants posing as Taliban. Operation Rah-e-Rast has taken the wind out of sails of Indian plans and it is still licking its wounds.

After collecting concrete evidence of RAW’s involvement in all restive areas of Pakistan, PM Gilani handed over the dozier to Manmohan Singh at Sharm el Sheikh. Latter rather than feeling ashamed had the audacity to stick to Indian standpoint of bringing culprits of Mumbai attacks to book and dismantling terrorist network in Pakistan. It is over 10 months and Indians are still shedding copious tears over the incidence in which lone witness Kasab captured under dubious circumstances authenticates Indian woven story. As against the dozier provided by Pakistan, information fed by India is full of loopholes. It has nastily made resumption of composite dialogue conditional to acceptance of its illegal demands.

RAW is also responsible for indulging in disinformation campaign and launching bogus websites. It is also confusing ground situation in Kashmir so as to keep world’s attention away from gross human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir. RAW is unable to digest that 20 years junior ISI has overtaken it in terms of efficiency and output. Feeling outclassed and outwitted, ISI has become prime target of RAW’s intrigues. The ISI is considered to be an impediment in RAW’s operations and has been made a target of intense villification campaign. The tirade against ISI continues unabated since it thwarts RAW’s thrusts. Purpose is to keep ISI on the defensive by alleging that it has had a hand in supporting Kashmiri mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Taliban. RAW’s fixation on ISI has taken the shape of ISI-phobia, as in India everyone traces the origin of all happenings and shortcomings to the ISI. Whenever and wherever there is a kidnapping, a bank robbery, a financial scandal, a bomb blast, or what have you, the ISI is deemed to have had a hand in it.

While hypocritically accusing Pakistan of terrorism, RAW has been indulging in terrorism in Pakistan since 1968 at a massive scale. Dozens of RAW agents killed and arrested in Swat, FATA and Punjab in recent months and seizure of Indian origin explosives, ammunition and Indian currency testify foolproof involvement of India in covert operations. Even USA has now hesitatingly advised India to trim Indian consulates in Jalalabad, Mazar-e-Sharif and Kandahar notorious for RAW’s clandestine activities against Pakistan.

Taking into account rules framed for terrorism, RAW stands qualified to be declared a rogue and a terrorist outfit playing havoc in entire South Asia against all its neighbours. It is a treacherous organisation which excels in falsehood and in art of manufacturing concocted dramas to blackmail neighbours, prepare excuses to wage a war or to apply economic sanctions against landlocked countries. Its hands are soaked in blood of thousands of innocent victims. It is solely responsible for keeping South Asia backward which in turn has given rise to extremism in the region. Aggrieved South Asian states should collectively take up a case with UN and asked to deliver justice. If it can pass resolutions against Islamic fundamentalist groups, it should do so in case of non-Muslim rogue outfit as well without discrimination.. RAW must be fully exposed as a rogue and terrorist outfit.

India and state terrorism

The Republic of India has been accused by Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh of formenting terrorism in their respective territories by using its external-intelligence agency, the Research & Analysis Wing (RAW), or at least having links to certain sources that signify to terrorism. All in all, as many as 40 fighter training camps have been identified in the states of Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and oher parts of India, accused and suspected to be run and activated by the RAW's Special Service Bureau (SSB).

Support for Sri Lankan Rebels

The Research and Analysis Wing was allegedly blamed for aiding the LTTE (Tamil Tigers) in Sri Lanka during the 1970's prior to India U-turn in its foreign policy vis-a-vis LTTE when LTTE's efforts gave impetus to separatist groupa in Southern India. India sent 'peacekeepers' to Sri lanka to fight the LTTE but they were later withdrawn hastily in the face of abject failure. Indian media regularly carried reports chastising the state government of Tamil Nadu as well as the federal government for failing to act against the LTTE which drew support and funds from well connected Indian politicians who harbored sympathies for the Tamil minority of Sri lanka.

All this culminated in to the 'Jain Commission'.According to Nytimes from about 1983, the Governments of Indira Gandhi and her son Rajiv diverted secret intelligence funds to a program under which Sri Lankan Tamil groups, including the Tigers, were armed and trained at camps in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere in India.Indira Gandhi beside LTTE supported and trained three other organizations EPRLF, EROS and TELO.And also let them used Indian Soil against Sri Lanka.

The intelligence agencies even organised an ambush in Amparai by the Indian-raised Tamil National Army on a Sri Lankan Army brigade commander. All major Tamil guerrilla groups received military training and logistical support from India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). This training took place in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where ethnic, linguistic, and trade ties exist between the Tamils of India and Sri Lanka.Due to Political pressure from Tamil Nadu's Political parties Indian Naval chief denied giving any support to Sri Lankan Government to fight LTTE. .India Ofically denys it's links with LTTE.LTTE was banned in India after assassination of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991.

Support for BLA

The Government of Pakistan has also blamed India for its alleged involvement in the Balochistan conflict. India's RAW has been repeatedly accused of clandestinely funding terroist organisations such as the Balochistan Liberation Army in Pakistan's Balochistan state. Pakistan claims to have unravelled many elements that point to India for the cause of the conflict. Sri Lanka has also criticised India for its involvement in that conflict

Indian RAW Spies arrested in Lahore

On January 29 2009, three Indian spies suspected of carrying out terrorist attacks and having links with the Research & Analysis Wing were caught and arrested in the city of Lahore by the city police. The city police, with the help of intelligence agencies, had foiled a "deadly plan" that had included the carrying out of large-scale bloodshed. A police spokesman later stated that remote-control bombs, explosives and sensitive documents had been uncovered in large scales besides huge cache of sophisticated weapons and maps/drawings of sensitive installations from their possession.

The Capital City Police Chief, Pervez Rathore, disclosed while addressing at a press conference that the arrested terrorists had confessed their involvement in smuggling across the border from India to Pakistan, as well as confessing that during their visits to India, they had also managed to establish contacts with the RAW. He said that "RAW officials used to help the terrorists in crossing the border from Gate number 139."

According to sources, the police further stated that other than Lahore, plans of carrying out bomb blasts had also been made in other localities including Faisalabad, Mansehra, Muridke and Chichawatni, all of which had been unfoiled.
