there would be many contenders for the position of true Islamic state depending on one's interpretation of true Islamic state.. however the position of the best Islamic state to live in, would undoubtedly rest with Turkey.. which is the natural corollary of managing the separation of church and state best among all other Islamic states..

food for thought, the western countries which no Islamic state can even dream to compete with are predominantly Christian, but the secret of their success lies in the separation of church and state, the only progressive countries keep their matters of state uninfected by religion..

so to sum up, I'm not sure if people should be rooting for a true Islamic state, as that is the surest method of ensuring that your country lags behind other nations in every parameter that matters when measuring the strength of any nation, be it economically or militarily..

Idea of Islamic state is a highly misplaced idea.

Islam only define guidelines and set boundary lines for daily business.
When it comes to clearly set boundaries, it shouldn't be violated with intent.
Regarding religious freedom, Islam clearly states 'there's no insisting on religion' Hence as a Muslim administrator one should take care that everyone gets freedom of religion, which also means ensuring no one stepping on others freedom.
