Hemp is a money crop. Hemp seeds are nutritious... hemp oil is used in many applications... hemp fiber is great for clothing ... hemp stem canbe used as building material... hemp canbe used as a cheap alternative to make paper.

Solar-powered farmhouse makes use of hemp throughout
And it’s surprisingly chic

This zero-carbon house in Cambridgeshire, England, literally comes from the land. Built on the 53-acre Margent Farm, the Flat House takes advantage of the property’s biggest resource—hemp.

London studio Practice Architecture worked with the farm to design the house, which was constructed in two days using prefabricated panels made from hempcrete, a mixture of hemp and lime.

The paneled facade of the house is clad in hemp-fiber tiles that are bound with a sugar-based resin made from agricultural waste. “The materials are breathable meaning they regulate the moisture in the air, resisting damp and mould and leading to a healthier environment and air quality,” the architects told Dezeen. The house also goes off-grid with a biomass boiler and solar panels on the roof.

Inside, the hemp panels are left bare, framed by a timber support system, which gives the walls a cool, neutral-toned texture. Though the house is made from humble materials, it still exudes an air of sophistication. The open-plan lower level has an atmospheric double-height ceiling and a wall of windows light up the dining area. Light timber stairs lead to a mezzanine and the bedrooms.

If you are going to legalize marijuana, why not alcohol? It's kind of a slippery slope for a country that is an Islamic state.

What does Marijuana have to do with Alcohol? And that too from an Islamic perspective?

alcohol has only one use, intoxication.
Marijuana on the other hand can be used for so many positive outcomes including medicines, clothing and building material (hemp/cannabis) and several healing properties.

It's about the use, not the item itself.

Nice try Hindutva.

Marijuana commercial production and export for medicinal use is the actual discussion. Frankly, I am amazed Pakistan isn't already exploiting this cash crop.

Marijuana is not a drug. Cigarettes are worse.

And its legalized in Canada as well as multiple states in the U.S.
We can get drugs from Afghanistan or Pakistan. Make some factories,it will bring employment , can export drugs.

Oh bhai Bani Gala se kya zaati dushmani hai?

That’s what happens when you have Airplanes as ministers. Shehryar afridi shakal Es hi charsi lagta hai. On a more serious note, it’s a pity to see that this is what it has come down to. I mean is there Noone sober and sane in this government coming up with better ideas?

There was a thread for this last week. You are a little misinformed. There are no plans to legalise cannabis for recreational use - rather a proposal (more like a nara at a jalsa) that cannabis should be commercially produced and its by products exported.

I think its a great idea. The plant can be processed for medical uses, its waste can be used to make bags (hemp). The world is also moving towards legalisation for recreational use. I don't think it's suitable for our society but I see no reason not to export it to others who do.
Quoting this post for emphasis and closing the thread.

Please don’t spread misinformation - the PTI proposal was to utilize drugs for legal medicinal purposes, not legalize recreational use of currently illegal drugs.
