Is ‘Hindu’ our National Identity?

You didn't read any of my posts did you?

The world Hindustan was first used by the Mughals, so you can use the Mughal map to determine the length and breath of Hindustan.

They called themselves the "Emperor of Hindustan". Here is the map of the Mughal Empire when it was at its largest.

Does that look like the "land of the SIndhu" or the "land of the Hindu" ?

BTW the Chinese called the land "Hein tu" in 1st century BC. Why is that ?

And the Mughals meant land of Hindus?

Pretty Much.

The land and the people were "Hindus" for Mughals, to the Chinese to pretty much everybody in the world.

So the Mughals called it HINDUSTAN because it was the land of Hindus!!!:rofl::rofl::lol::lol: What a moron!!!

On the contrary, you are absolutely hurting us by butchering our mothers.

Except serious resistance. This is not a personal choice thing at all.
Your mothers? They are your mothers based on your Hindu scriptures which non hindu dont follow. Its like Indian muslims expecting from Hindus and sikhs to give up wine because its haram in Islam. Its abosultely personal freedom to eat or drink whatever you like. If you expect Muslim to give up meat of cow then you should also give up wine because it hurt muslims when you drink haram stuffs lol

This is our Constitution, read it for yourself.
And yes India is a Hindu Majority country and therefore a defacto Hindu nation.
Even Mc,Donalds menu in India, has only Chicken, fish and Lamb not pork or beef.

Hindu nation lol i hope you understand the meaning of word secular, justice, liberty and equality :D

"The Constitution declares India to be a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring its citizens of justice, equality, and liberty, and endeavors to promote fraternity among them.[6] The words "socialist" and "secular" were added to the definition in 1976 by constitutional amendment (mini constitution)"

Macdolands menu dont has pork in its menu in Pakistan as well because it cater its food according to taste of population...what about Muslim majority area of hyderbad..do they have beef in menu ? Lol

So the Mughals called it HINDUSTAN because it was the land of Hindus!!!:rofl::rofl::lol::lol: What a moron!!!

LOL....... I guess as opposed to calling it HINDUstan land of "sindu" ............ I think it is established who the Moron is.

Its a shame your muslim faith makes you clutch at straws rather than face reality :P

Read the first line of my previous post.
The word orange has 2 meanings right?
One is a color and the other is a fruit....you got the drift of it I guess.

Many Indians also do have problem with term "Hindu" to be labelled with indian identity ..... What you would suggest to them who consider "Hindu" a religious identity not a national identity?

India is multi ethnic country, you cant call every one hindu in terms of nationality. Because that term was reserved only for people who lived in sindh. The people living in NE, Assam and in south India will not going to be measured with this definition, as its not applicable for them even though they practise the same religion.

Nope this term " Hindu" was attributed to indias geography n its ppl before Islam or other faiths arrived in India. So term "Hindu" is pertinent to display India's national identity even in todays time ...

I would ask 'em to chill.
Its a part of our history, and if some people called Muslims or christians as Hindi or Hindu then they should not be offended. And they need not behave like mimosa pudica because it didn’t affect their “faith”.
Even a muslim like Najma Heptullah says she doesnt have an issue with being called a hindu. Lol.

So when some illiterate villager visits a city for the very first time, people over there call him 'Paindu'. So basically its a derogatory term used for a villager. I bet you chinese have similar words for such people who are recently urbanised from the villages :D

The term in standard Chinese is "Xiang ba lao" which means something like "village bumpkin".

Which is unfortunate, since we all came from villages at one point or another.

You xiang ba lao !

I swear I can't say that with a straight face ! :sarcastic:

LOL. :P

My ancestors came to HK hundreds of years ago, but even Hong Kong was mostly villages even a few decades ago.

Like Shanghai, most of our modern skyline appeared over only a decade or two.

Villages are cool though. Maybe one day I will marry a nice village girl. And she will surely be much more civilized than me in any case. 8-)

Not bad!
I can understand the emotions behind not accepting the word hindu, at the same time its their ignorance which shows through such denial of their history. India would remain a hindu rashtra for long...ppl can accept it or leave it.
