Is China's Space Program Shaping a Celestial Empire?

Getting people and a lab up in orbit, staying there for over a week and then soft-landing on earth safely is no easy feat.

Who can do that at the moment except NASA and Russia?

isro CAN'T do its mission to Mars without NASA

Coming next, our soft landing on the Moon!

We are in a league of our own!

Here is our rover:

We have 2 spacecraft that are still orbiting and travelling in space respectively - Tiangong 1 since Sept 2011 and Chang'e 2 since Oct., 2010.

Last report. Chang'e 2 has travelled 50 million km from Earth

Chinese probe reaches record height in space travel- China.org.cn

le Yinghuo-1......

Yinghuo-1 was a Chinese Mars-exploration space probe, intended to be the first Chinese spacecraft to explore Mars. It was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, on 8 November 2011, along with the Russian Fobos-Grunt sample return spacecraft, which was intended to visit Mars' moon Phobos.[2][6] The 115-kg (250-lb) Yinghuo-1 probe was intended by the CNSA to orbit Mars for around two years,[1] studying the planet's surface, atmosphere, ionosphere and magnetic field.[7] Shortly after launch, Fobos-Grunt was expected to perform two burns to depart Earth orbit bound for Mars. However, these burns did not take place, leaving both probes stranded in orbit.[8] On 17 November 2011, Chinese state media reported that Yinghuo-1 had been declared lost by the CNSA.[9] Yinghuo-1 and Fobos-Grunt underwent destructive re-entry on 15 January 2012, finally disintegrating over the Pacific Ocean.[5][10]

Can India send mangalayan to mars orbit by Indian's own rocket?

let them launch first..there is no news on this mission yet..report suggests that they'll launch in late 2013..yet no final words came out..if they miss this window,next window will be in 2015,in which ISRo will launch Chandrayan-2..and also,India doesn't have a space race with China..that race was already won by NASA..we're merely following their footsteps..

by the way,India will precede China in Mars by launching Mangalayan this year,in November...

I'm not delusional,nor did I make dreams in void like you,who simply saying Nasa>CNSA>ESA>ISRO while RSA is still at large there..

In space and defense technology. The rest of world is just following American foot steps. The question now is "who is the winner of silver medal?"

Russia... :rolleyes: if NASA is Grandfather in Space tech,Russia is "Baap"(Father),and will remain few more years,yet..

one eg....

how many moon missions ESA,ISRO,CNSA,NASDA has conducted??now compare it with RSA's record..

Soviets was competing with USA back in the 50s and 60s .Since then, they have fallen much further behind. Its now a new race for number 2.

@shuttler
Do not behave like an idiot,Mangalyaan is Indian mission.

Our moon mission will be held on 2015-2017,it will be a soft landing with Indian Lander ( not a russian one as in early media reports)

only to track the mission using deep space tracking system for few sections which couldn't tracked by Indian Deep Space Tracking system..

if it is so unimportant why you ask for help from NASA

Dont take credit when you dont deserve the whole of it!

India's in a space race with the world? Last I checked, America was exploring Mars, China was beaming down lessons from space and India's vaunted GSLV was leaking fuel on the launchpad, having of course, spectacularly exploded moments into launch 3 years earlier. It's funny because the Indians have us all trolled.
Ah the fool is here again,Indian Mars mission would be held this year,our Lunar Mission,Chandrayaan 1 was very successful- It did a hard landing on the moon ( Moon Impact Probe ) and found water on lunar surface .Our lunar soft landing would be held by 2015-2017

Meanwhile Pakistan can develop a basic SLV :omghaha:

@shuttler

NASA will use their network to track it<3,thats it.

india doesnt have the system nor the sophistication to implement one. that's it!
if you can complete the mission without external assistance then full credit, get it?
And dont be nasty calling me "idiot" when the idiocy is on you!

Do you know what constitutes a Deep Space tracking system?We had the tracking capabilities to track missions like Chandrayaan-so it is not about sophistication,but Why go around the world building antennas and network and increase total cost of mission when you can outsource that to some one else?

learn to accept reality
if you cant do it YOU CANT - both technology-wise and cost-wise!

Mars is much further away from Earth than the Moon, get it?
