Is Bangladesh going for JF-17?

bangladesh should go for hal tejas if they really want a cost effective and deadly fighter!!!!:yahoo:

Im not sure, bd usually doesnt buy any arms from india. And tejas is more expensive than jf 17, even though they are quite similar to each other

Bangladesh should go for JF-17 and also J-10 B and should by them in great Numbers and also should buy TANKS from China and other Nations other wise they will have to face Bully India and they will be able to do nothing in response

We need economic growth for that, plus we are not in a arms race with india. We just wanna moderinse the air force. 2 squadrons of JF 17 and one squadron of J 10 should be enough for now

I think BD is more interested in Mig29

Migs are costly to maintain and fly. our air force ordered 16 of them at first but they cancelled the order after reciving 8, due to their high cost of upkeep. Sukhoi will be a much better alternative. I personaly prefer su 27 and su 30

no offense but you guys are in deep financial trouble . how are you going to help some one else?

Actually if we buy warplanes from them, our air force will be modernised and they will earn money to ease their financial woes. WIN WIN situation

Let us get it for Indian Airforce first and then think about Bangladesh. If the news is true, well done Bangladesh. Hope we have a few combined Air exercises over Bay of Bengal :)
If there is a sale to BD, the platform will be customized platform like J-7BG which was based on J-7PG but customized for BD requirement. Secondly it would also be important that BD goes for which configuration as different price ranges were qouted by one insider for different roles i.e. pure airsuperiority to full multirole. Thirdly, there will be some understanding whether to use the aircraft in certain cases like Pakistan did not use F-16s in excercises with PLAAF. similarly, PAF may not use its frontline Chinese platforms (may be FC-20) in NATO held excercises. Its an understanding, else there wont be any issues on either side even if these platforms are used in joint excercises with IAF, capabilities will be different (may be significantly different)

they can't as they have JV with China so you will have to buy it from China.
Like us can't sell Brahmos without Russia's nod
But ain't JF17 built specific for Pakistan???

But china cannot sell it to us unless they get a nod from pakistan right?

Anyway, dont they get to share the profit since its a joint venture??

may verywell be, because PAC is busy with PAF orders at the moment, though they are expanding yet the local needs will likely be perferred over exports unless extraordinary cricumstances prevail. If CAC has the idle capacity, it would be obvious to let them handle the production. Its a joint gain, like a salesmen who have a common product and either who finds a buyer, both of them will benifit. But anyways.

K8 also called JV but please tell us how many Pakistan built K8 you export to other countries ???

China made JF17 for Pakistan and for other counties they will produce all Aircraft in their own country.

You expect China to really ask for Pakistan's nod!!!!!
Besides China will sell JF17 or its chinese version. In this way they can profit without sharing!!!!!!

Well to me, pakistan is closer to china than bd. Why would china want to risk that relationship just to sell a few planes to bd?
