Exactly. The mistrust is of-course mutual but to be fair it has been more of our doings in the past that has lead to our outright ostracization these days. They gave us a great deal of military aid in 50-60s after joining SEATO/CENTO but we funneled that to our ill-thought / ill-planned war against India. And since then, what has not been done. Again, its not all of our fault but we have more than the due share in this relationship fiasco. Wish we had statesmen leading the country and we had more respect in the community of nations.

I was recently in the US for a few days, and the way i was singled out of the queue at the airport and questioned for being a Pakistani, was quite humiliating indeed (they let me in eventually, i was there for a conference). But i am not that naive to say, Oh they hate Pakistanis/Muslims, hence that (or shall i say only that ). We need to do some introspection and see what's wrong that the world equate us with all the other "Special" countries.

Now same usa and canada have agreed to sell india uranium.

I was also in a US airport a while back, I was not singled out.. joked around... went through security and immigration in 4 minutes considering I was a new guy in . On the other hand, a Arab student was arrested because he was simply being an arse with TSA and not cooperating.

One of our female acquaintance quite senior in age and holding american citizenship, good past conduct, regulr tax payers was made to go thru seperate security checks just cuz she was in pakistani dress shalwar kameez. And no its not cuz the dress has something where u can hide weapon etcs,there are women who get thru wearing tunics, skirts but someone in a traditional pakistani dress has to be viewed with suspicion.

If Americans wanted to assassinate RH, they would have done it last year. Not now when RH is on his last legs with barely a year more to go. RH isn't the only person making shifts in Pak polocies though he is important. But his time is up and he's not asking for an extention not taking one, so that's that.

Well.....though your idea may seem too far fetched but then one also remembers mysterious plane crash of Gen Zia and his top generals, at the end of previous afghan war....so there is a possibility... But more than US , i think indians would be more interested in such eventuality...IF something like tht has to be planned

If i am lying then all those reported incidents of racism against pakistanis and muslims are also fake. All of it is just a google away. And no iwasnt lying or making up a story. And if its the taxes part that makes it sound suspicious or anything ,she is a dependent, so imeant her husband. If i had to make up a story then iwud have made a better embellished one.

And u are extremely intolerant of others pov's and even facts that dont match ur way of thinking. If all u want others is to say what u like to hear then add that to ur signature.

your article reminds me of the assassination of benazir and how power was taken from Musharraf after the chaos created due to her death. although a pity that she died but she was one suborn selfish and ruthless woman, had over 175 people killed on her arrival when instead of going quietly to her place she wanted a spectacle and a procession in her honour and then the assassination itself violating all security protocols despite the warnings.
here I worry for sherifs because assassinating the COAS through a plane crash may not result in the planned chaos in the country.. the military will bring a new COAS or maybe martial law and sherifs will be sidelined. but killing Nawaz sherif or his brother can create political turmoil and unrest in the country and army will be immediately blamed by Khawaja Asif etc
