I think the Baathist in the MoD won't let the army has that capability. Or your generals are backward to think of having UAV man even Nigiria have them now to fight boko haram.

On video the minister of defense admitted he was seeking UCAV ( from China also ), China offering them was official but no news of a deal, again recently China said it's willing to arm Iraq.. So either the deal is signed and not published or no deal. UCAV are needed

Never heard or have seen such thing. Iraq indeed in need for such capability for hundreds of them but our lot either so ignorant or careless.

its probably due to their low payload . they are extremely effective but their only weak point is that they only carry 4 ATGM . maybe the iraqi officials are thinking of that ?

Su-25 can bring hell on ground for example . but again , as you said , i think UCAVs are better choice since they are much easier to maintain , safer to use and also less costly .

SU-25 and UCAV are for different roles, the Su-25 is for heavy attack and bombardment, it has less sight of the ground situation and no FLIR sight compared to a UCAV which is cheaper to operate, better sight of the ground, precision laser-guided attack, ~24 hours in air.

Bro, It's not abot how much payload it's all about they give you valuable info about your enemy they are your eyes in the sky. emagine hundreds of them filling the sky they will count the breath isis do they can make their life hard but who cares if must of our generals are brokers not soldiers if you test them they will fail.

good thing is that both of the mentioned UCAVs have limited A-A capabilities too .
