Iraq orders Turkey to 'immediately' withdraw troops sent across border

He was probably hoping that Turkey would backtrack if he didn't make further noise.

But apparently not, here is the latest,

Iraq to file UN complaint over Turkish 'incursion' - Al Jazeera English

“We call on the Security Council to demand that Turkey withdraw its forces immediately ... and not to violate Iraqi sovereignty again,” Iraqi Ambassador Mohamed Ali Alhakim said in a letter to US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, who is currently the president of the Security Council’s rotating seat.

UNSC is a joke , this council is there to protect interest of its primarily member ....

Of course, it is a joke. But here it shows that Iraq is protesting through legal channels.

Can one of your Turks please explain what the hell is going on with Erdogan's foreign policy? How did Turkey go from a Zero-Problems foreign policy of a few years back to just about pissing in EVERYONE'S faces.

I'm not an anti-Turkey Iranian. I generally like Turkey. I used to think that Turkey was going to make our region proud. It was an amazing example of a country that was bridging the east & the west, being both Muslim & secular, able to work peacefully and respectfully with all the countries in the region.

Now, it is 180 degrees opposite. It has gone from a Zero Problem foreign policy to All Problem foreign policy.

This is a map of Turkey. Look at the land borders.

It seems that Erdogan has a bucket list. "Piss off all off my land border neighbors before I leave office".

Out of 8 land neighbors, six of them are,

Armenia, check
Greece, check
Cyprus, check
Syria, check
Iran, check
Iraq, check

I don't know how the relationship is with the remaining two, Georgia & Bulgaria, but if it is good, then we can be sure that in a year or two, Erdogan is going to do something to piss them off too.
Who is ordering whom?!? We are taking back our land, our people, our history and our culture back which we defended with our blood for thousand years. Forget about the Turkey of the last century, get used to this new Turkey which will speak in the language of Yavuz Sultan Selim and Ulu Hakan Abdul Hamid ( May Allah be pleased with all of them). May HE be exalted. HE is the ONE the ETERNAL ONE.

Oh okay, so its typical 18th century style invasion. You guys should have just said that from the start.

Yes I know what's means since the Mongol invaders want to teach others about their geography and history

It's means the guardian of fire can you tell us what does mean in your languege??

are trying to lecture the people about their land or you are the one who need to be lectured about it??
We dont care what we are called. We all call ourself either Azeri Turks and simply Turks.
The head of Safavi, Shah Ismail Xetai, was the person who made the Turkish language as the official language for Safavi. took the capital to Tebriz, which is still a Turkish speaking city..

Why cant you first fathom the situation at hand first. I am so sick of ignorant people talking about stuff that they dont have the slightest clue about. The Iraqi central goverment dont want Turkey to withdraw its troop, just to stop the additional reinforcement to the already existing Turkish base near Mosul.

Baghdad Officially has been demanding withdrawal of your troops ... is it hard to fathom?rejoining Mosul to your territories ain't a good idea ...

Yeah, the withdrawal of the additional troops, not the ones already within Iraq.

Yeah, the withdrawal of the additional troops, not the ones already within Iraq.

"The Turkish delegation was told that the only way to resolve the crisis is the full withdrawal of Turkish troops from Iraqi territory, and this will open the way for positive relations," Thursday's statement said.

There is a spelling mistake in the title. "It should be Iran orders Turkey to 'immediately' withdraw troops sent across border" not "Iraq orders Turkey to 'immediately' withdraw troops sent across border". :D

Dude, its not up to Erdogan... He also doesnt want a problem.. But, once there is new middle east map created based on your land without you, You gotta do something and simple play big to play with bigger players! I think Turkey made his new game there... After Saudi Arabia's previous king took Sisi to the power, Turkey was shocked. It couldnt do much until last march when the new King came to the power who is close to Muslim brotherhood. Latest vote to girls in S.Arabia also shows that!
After this time, Turkey in a very strong position. The west also understood that, with Turkish army technology and Arabic money, Turkey will gain the region. SO now, all powers are in rush to get their share... Once Turkey develops and make it operational its own anti SAM and AESA radar with next 2 years, Those armies will get in more trouble.. I believe, USA let Russia to get in... Because, Russia would risk their air force if they knew that US might support rebels with anti air missiles. However, so far, Turkey and Arabic countries couldnt convince USA about that unlike in TOW missiles supplies.. USA simple gave assurance to Russian forces to make them face with Turkey...
Russia, on the other hand, by bombing those oil refinery, will push the oil price up which is 50-60% Russian export.
This war will continue next 2-3 years... it also depends on new American president! I believe, not matter who comes to power, they will act like tough guy, because that the best language against Russia and CHine today, unlike what Obama did!

dude, its completely up to erdogan, he has done a big mistake by interfering syria, he was kind of delusional becuase of being like a sultan in turkey. western countries try to make a new country to name kurdistan, when ISID invaded iraq, they have sent tons of weapons to kurdistan of iraq, and nowadays turkey supporting kurdistan of iraq, erdogan thinks turkey can buy oil from them, second it makes iraq weak, third, they can supress pkk in turkey. and pkk members cant hide easily in north of iraq. but this is a naive mind, because immidietly after kurdistan of iraq is independent and stable. it will be turkey turn! its a domino. maybe right now barezani has good connection with turkey, but it will be changed. also european countries. they will support kurds in turkey. and kurds of syria is already out of syrian control.
right now, turkey has big security problems in east part of her country. imagin what will be happen if kurdistan of iraq is independent. its a domino.. if kurdish area of any of these countries will be independent, others will be soon.

erdogan thinks he can control it. but he cant, like what he was thinking about syrian war before and first days of war... now 5 years passed and its completely different story than those days.

Ok, lets see the other side of the coin...
US and West, created the Kurdish "country" and Iraq was silent... Its all was designed to play against Turkey. However, Turkey played well... They offered a new gas and petrol pipeline.. investment in Kurdish area. BUT, they said that the money created from the sale, will be saved in Turkish bank, and will only be payed to Kurdish government through Iraqi government... even though Kurdish side was against it...

Lets see what happened now! Iraqi government didnt want to allocate money to Kurdish side.. Most probably, i believe, Turkey will give the money to Kurds and wait for Iraqi army to attack them. Until that, they will train them. This is called the politics... I actually, dont even believe that the Iraqi army will get the balls to attack.
the bad side of this politics... West will need to stay behind kurds because they need them and they will become the second biggest importer of Turkish goods. Win Win situation!
