DG ISPR Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor, flanked by his Iranian counterpart, has addressed a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart after the COAS Gen Qamar Bajwa met Iranian officials as part of his official visit to Tehran.

On behalf of the Pakistani army chief, he thanked the Iranian military and government for hospitality extended during the visit.

Gen Asif Ghafoor briefed Iranian media about Pakistan’s efforts, achievements and sacrifices in war against terror and towards regional peace.

Islamabad, Tehran vow not to allow ‘third party’ use their soil against each other

He also thanked Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for his ‘supportive statement’ on Kashmir issue. “Kashmir is long pending dispute between India and Pakistan. Regional peace and security remains at stake unless it’s resolved to the aspiration of Kashmiris in line with UN Resolution,” Ghafoor said.

Pakistan wished peace in Afghanistan and supported all initiatives towards achieving the goal, said the DG ISPR. “We have done everything on Pakistan side of the border. There are no terrorist sanctuaries inside Pakistan,” he added.

COAS in Iran on charm offensive

Maj-Gen Ghafoor said ISIS was growing in Afghanistan as threat to the whole region and a combined approach was required to defeat the threat.

“State of Pakistan has stated that our relations with Iran are not at the cost of our relations with any other country and vice a versa. We greatly value our relations with Iran which have a positive history bonded by history, culture and religion.”

“In Pakistan we say that prerogative of declaring jihad rests only with state and armed forces are state instrument for its application against anti state elements,” Ghafoor added.

Iranian officer also thanked Pakistani delegation for their visit to Iran and acknowledged the supportive suggestions made by Army Chief Gen Qamar. He assured that Iranian soil shall not be used against Pakistan.

At the end of conference, Maj-Gen Ghafoor said: “The Pakistani delegation leaves Iran with positive feelings and strengthening relations.”

So what is the actual wording of this "supportive" statement as the Supreme Leader said it?

Probably condemning the brutality on the other side of the LOC, doubt he outright said Kashmir belongs to Pakistan :enjoy:

“Kashmir is long pending dispute between India and Pakistan. Regional peace and security remains at stake unless it’s resolved to the aspiration of Kashmiris in line with UN Resolution,” Ghafoor said.

How does that become support for Pakistan?

How does that become support for Pakistan?

Pakistani stance is and has been to always resolve the issue as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people as per the UN resolutions
It's india whose always been defiant to this and chanting Kashmir being some unbreakable part whatever

So how is it not support for Pakistani stance on the issue?

UNO is a useless sxit, we never solve this problem in that sxity hole, more armed the Mujahideen and it’s take a huge secrifiess, and blood bath for occupying forces till rivers turn into red:coffee:

No, they don't if the UN Resolutions predate them.

And how you conclude that? Shimla and any such agreements have no international law obligation to comply with, unlike the UN ones.
how one country can decide that UN Security Council resolutions are no more valid .

Shimla agreement is Nul & Void.

It is illegitimate for it did not involve the most impartant party i.e. The Kashmiris!

Kashmir is not a cake to be divided between Pak and India. It is the Will of Kashmiris that matters most.

The ONLY solution is to listen to Kashmiris and honour their wishes.

Pak has a moral obligation towards this end. And Pak has been consistent in its support of Kashmiris' Legitmate Right of Self Determination.

India lost Kashmir the day First Kashmir was killed and a first innocent woman/girl raped by Indian Occupational Forces.

Long Live Free Kashmir!

One country hasn't decided. Two countries have signed an agreement that all issues will be solved bilaterally. In exchange for this Pakistani PoWs were released.

that was the main purpose of making you to sign the agreement. Both have to take care of the Kashmir issues bilaterally.
