Iran’s railway revolution

This speed is the operational speed.

The operational speed vs the fastest speed, it is not the same.

The Shinkansen can reach over 300 kph, but it doesn't mean that they will drive that speed during the operation.

A. The latest series Shinkansen (E5 series) was introduced in 2013, so it is not "60s technology".
B. The reason the Shinkansen travels slower is due to safety reasons. The frequency of Shinkansen trains on all networks is such that it would not be safe to have trains that travel so close to each other travel at such speeds, even accounting for automated safety technology, The other reasons are due to overhead line wear and noise pollution.
C. Inspite of this, the Shinknasen between Utsunomia and Morioka does have a fastest speed of 320 km/h. The E5 series is rated for a top speed of 360 km/h, which is not achieved due to the afore-mentioned reasons.

.
Yes i know and thats exacty why i was saying that the Shinkansen tracks arent suitable for higher speeds because of the Japanese topography.
Otherwise Japanese would make faster trains but they dont need it, firstly because their country isnt that big and secondly the higher speed you want to reach the more expensive it becomes to lay tracks since you need more terraforming, bridges and tunnels.

They can try to reach with a higher speed, but it would sacrifice its safety as the result.

The Shinkansen is an old design from the 1950s, so its designing standard cannot be compared to the modern one.

Shinkansen had numerous series since 50s its not like they are using the same technology, by this logic also TGV and ICE are ancient.

Do you wanna tell me there is no difference between this....

FYI Japanese are already migrating to next gen train sets from E-5 series. There are a lot of things which has to be considered while running them on so much high speeds. And always faster is not the winner, average top operational speed does matter if its long distance.

Too bad Mr Rohani has already spent the Rials of the to be freed Dollars!

well , He just want to live and be president , the circumstances are not important for Mr Hassan ....

I don't think you read a word of his post except "E-5 Series"...you just mentioned a pigdin version of what he wrote and prefaced it with an "FYI"!!!

I may not have traveled on bullet trains till date but I have tried to study the research papers and its operator countries. And what is happening here every body has lost manners how to discuss with common people.

Awesome response! Now if you could only translate it into English for us plebeians...

PressTV-Siemens seals railroad deals with Iran

Iran’s media reported on Thursday that Germany’s Siemens has won several deals to develop the country’s railway infrastructure.

A deal specifically concerns the electrification of Tehran-Mashhad railroad. Accordingly, the German company will provide the signaling equipment, the electric locomotives, passenger train coaches as well as the related maintenance services for the railroad.

A second deal concerns the construction of Tehran-Isfahan high-speed railway and a third the provision of 500 passenger train coaches.

Siemens has also agreed to provide training for the railway sector of Iran, IRNA reported.

The German engineering powerhouse will in most of its projects be obliged to team up with Iranian companies. This, IRNA’s report added, will be meant to transfer know-how to the Iranian companies.

Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Netmatzadeh said last May that the country wants to splurge up to $8 billion over the next six years to revamp and expand its railway network.

Netmatzadeh said there are plans to stretch out the nationwide railroad line to 25,000 kilometers by 2025 from under 15,000 kilometers now. He added that there was need for $1.5 billion of annual investment in the next six years as part of the country’s vision plan.

Last October, Iran signed an agreement with Russia worth €1.2 billion to electrify a train line, linking north-central Iran to the northeastern border with Turkmenistan.

The agreement signed between Russian Railways and the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) envisages constructing power stations and overhead power lines along the Garmsar-Sari-Gorgan-Inche Burun route in Iran.

Officials said at the time that the project will be financed by the Russian government and will be implemented in 36 months, which includes manufacturing all electric locomotives inside Iran, electrifying 495 kilometers of railway and building 32 stations and 95 tunnels.
