Iran giving americanos big headache in middle east...

Interesting comment:

"It appears the American UAV (possibly an MQ9) was hacked by IRGC then forced to crash land. Fearing it could end up in the hands of IRGC, another drone is sent it to destroy the UAV on the ground.

Interesting, IRGC was receiving all streaming visual data of both UAVs live as the
UAV operators were.

US has a major problem in security of tits UAV fleet in ME battle areas, it appears IRGC is hacking and taking over the controls at will."

According to General Hajizadeh, U.S drone malfunctioned and crashed 10km away from U.S base, but American were so frightened, they didn't dare to recover it, instead sent their fighter jet to bombard it's wreckage.

After IRGC lost American drone feed! they sent their own drone to monitor American's reaction.

Iran IRGC Aerospace chief Gen.Hajizadeh: infiltration to command and control American drone UAV data video feeds in Iraq & Syria

EXCLUSIVE: Iran Penetrates into US Command Center, Picks Up Drones Control
"Seven to eight drones that had constant flights over Syria and Iraq were brought under our control and their intel was monitored by us and we could gain their first-hand intel," General Hajizadeh said in the Western Iranian city of Hamedan on Thursday.
The footage below shows IRGC's penetration into US Army's Command Center, one of the many proofs in support of General Hajizadeh's remarks.
The footage shows a US flying drone starts malfunctioning and makes a rough landing in a desert area 10 kilometers away from its base.
he US troops avoid approaching the malfunctioning drone as they are not sure who is controling the aircraft, and hence send a manned aircraft to bomb the drone.
The footage that displays the IRGC's penetration into the US spy drone's intel has been recorded by an IRGC drone flying above the scene.

Hajizadeh is likely exaggerating. Americans weren’t “scared”.

If the drone was carrying unexploded munitions or a self destruct kit then it would be too dangerous for a live crew to salvage the wreck.

Hopefully in the same situation Iran would do the same, but we know how careless military safety is in Iran.

They may had underestimated Iranian capability 2011 and RQ-170 was brought fully under control via hacking. But if even today their transmissions are still hacked by Iran, it either shows very high Iranian capability or they again neglected data-link encryption quality.
I wonder if the claim of a captured MQ-9 is connected to this. But that case would again mean that they didn't get their security to a suffcient level after the RQ-170 event...
However if the MQ-9 was captured, the compromised data-links could have helped to find a backdoor for another hack, at least of the ground transmission. Iranian SIGINT assets seem active in Iraq/Syria.

A drone crashes with munitions on board and the military suspects possible sabtagoe, hacking, inside attack by a foreign entity who they don’t know or their intention.
Thus command orders termination of said drone via air and you believe that means someone is “scared”?

Hajizadeh should close his mouth and be more pragmatic. Some of these Guard Corp act like it’s theater to walk around and make grandiose statements.

Instead how about he uses this capability to prevent/reduce Israel from pummeling T4 base, arms shipments to HZ, imports of anti missile systems, and attack on IRGC personnel in Syria.

Because while he loves to boost of Iran’s intel capability and prowress it obviously isn’t that good considering the fact that Israel kept striking Iran’s arms depots in syria over and over.

Not to mention even during US led Iraq war, insurgents could hack video feed of US drones with off the shelf equipment at one point.

Controlling the drone is impressive, but the rest of the comment of Hajizadeh just ruin professionalism of a military general.

During US led Iraq war is known that drone feeds were unencrypted or security was lax. Doesn’t seem like much is done to correct this especially during peaceful non war times.

People seem to forget US military like all militaries cut corners.

I will say that US FLIR technology appears to be much stronger than iran’s as the picture is much more defined and detailed then those from Iranian drones.

your problem is that you are looking from American view.
Maybe he is seeing something that you are unable to see.

There is a serious flaw with American command and control system. These are really serious issues for the US if their drones are hacked in such a manner. I just wonder if IRGC is capable of replacing hacked drone for the other identical drone while in the skies. Imagine IRGC hacks a US drone in a preplaned action where IRGC sends their drone with almost identical markings, crashes the original US drone and just hands the fake one to the Americans in the mid air.
That would be a Troyan 101 operation done well. I say the last video deserves 8/10. Why you may ask? They haven't crashed it on top of the US soldiers heads in their base with its munitions load out if it had.

Iran merely hacked into something that gets its commands from outside.

There are plenty of items that are linked to the internet for example computers, phones, webcams, etc.

Thus a drone is nothing more than a remote controlled toy, it can be hacked just like any other item.

In this case the drone was hacked and had two operators (Iranian operator and US operator). Eventually US operator felt something was wrong, just like if your on a computer and someone else is moving the cursor around at the same time as you. So he crashed the drone.

US drone electronic warfare is weak, we have noticed this with RQ-170. It seems they are too lazy or unwilling to beef up military grade encryption/security of their drones.
