AK-47 and any other rifle in 7.62x39mm is outdated against modern body armor and too high recoil to have any decent full auto or short burst.

Might as well go with battle rifle cartridge of 7.62x51mm NATO or 7.62x54mm Russian to have commonality with light machine guns.

Taliban now has plenty of body armor, thermal cameras and night vision equipment along 5.56mm AR platform rifles.

Another is Americans and their striving to have compact ammunition of comparable performance to 7.62 NATO.

For that reason G3A3 should be standard with x4 magnification scope at very least.

Alternatively 6.5 Grendel.

I hope the Iranian generals and government read this.

I'm still confused as to why IRGC and Artesh soldiers almost (rarely)/don't wear bulletproof vests. Some of them just wear helmets and wear vests (but that's only to store ammunition, not bulletproof).

Even worse they didn't use any protection, only beret hats on the soldiers' heads. Yes I know the Iranian army is one of the bravest troops in the world, they are fighting for martyrdom. But as professional soldiers they should be given complete protection (while still maintaining a brave soul).

I see Artesh soldiers in protective gear much worse than the IRGC. I don't think money is the problem, but their generals don't care.

Even though the price of bullet-proof vests and ballistic helmets in the foreign market is around $200 only. If the Iranian army numbered 650,000 personnel then what would be needed to buy bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets would be 2×$200×650,000=$260 million. This is very little money compared to Iran's GDP of $1.08 trillion.
Moreover, if Iran itself produces it, it will be much cheaper.

I mean we've been complaining about it for a long time. In contrast to the past, this was even worse but these days It does look like their is a shift, because I previously had never seen soldiers with scopes, and It's appeared more common now. They simply don't take it super seriously, and the most infuriating aspect is why NOHED wear berets in drills, it literally makes no sense and no one ever does this. No skull protection from debris or shrapnel. Ridiculous.
