There will be a lot of scuba diving in the next few weeks to recover many parts of the boat

If the equipment are in sealed container maybe but if they are in contact with sea water. I doubt it worth trying it.

Iranian military has done a great job contaminating the Persian Gulf in the last 12 months with the training accident, fake carrier barge sinking, and now this.

They should just go ahead and detonate a nuke underwater to completely destroy any possible ecosystem for next 100 years.

navy has little budget to work with maybe this will shake them up so that government gives them more money , navy is building 7 other Makran size support ships that will take the pressure off of them

But a sank ship can be a frame for marine lies a reefs attach themselves to it and flourish there.

Navy has little budget to work with?

Then Fateh and Mowj vessels are what exactly?

Navy might not get as much funding as IRGC or Missile forces. But look at Air Force its budget is estimated at $200M a year. A single Mowj vessel likely cost $100M if not more.

Omissis....
single Mowj vessel likely cost $100M if not more.

For a Chinese Type 056A light frigate complete with armament, some sources indicate the export price at US $ 102 million, slightly less for the basic Type 056 version.

For single Mowj/Moudge frigate being destined for the national navy, the US $ price should not be given for a ship that is almost wholly made from iran-made metal, elements, systems and weapons ; therefore I would not be surprised that the final cost of the Iranian frigates is significantly less than US $ 100 million, also because I understand that with a value of US $ 1 million in Iran it is possible to achieve much more if the same amount, for example, is used in my country.

That factor is approximately 10 for military equipment (us versus iran prices)...in other words a naval vessel worth 100 million in the US ..will be built in iran for 10 million..I have done the math and factor 10 works well as a ROM (rough order of magnitude).
Ps:assuming all material is iranian and no imported subsystems.

A western frigate (bigger than moje) is around 250 and for export as much as 350 million considering life cycle support (spares etc)

Cold in the cold, Persian Gulf waters, she lies.
Rest in peace iron soldier of fatherland.
It truly brothers me to see her like that, but am sure that an stronger and more sophisticated ship will replace her inshallah.

Rest in peace Beauty.

do not compare Mowj frigate with a support ship its like comparing a F-5 to a AWACS , you know that, well hopefully they will speed up production now

In this article it is stated that it is the frigate Sahand (74) to escort the Makran 441 and that the two ships of the Iranian Navy have rounded the Cape of Good Hope for the first time and appear to be headed across the Atlantic
https://www.politico.com/news/2021/06/04/iran-warships-atlantic-crossing-weapons-transfers-491898
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zo...o-sail-into-the-atlantic-and-thats-a-big-deal

you have confirmation if it really is the Sahand (74) to escort the Makran 441
thanks for a possible answer
