Iranian Navy | News and Discussions

Those idiots simple dont understand that news agecies use archive images video clips along with recent...video of recent lunch exist but is very short...they probably mount older video clips to match time of video broadcast with their report...I watched whole video of recent lunch which no one dispute but it is very short...Fars probably got also video of test lunches which ocur in past and they mount it with existing video..but that doesnt denied fact that we saw also recent cruise missile ....or it maybe also lunch that ocur in past(even I don't belive)..we can't verify timeframe but last time when lunch from Ghadir class failed US central command publish that event day after...even Iranians themself didn't...so they would now since they monitor all Iranian activity and this one was not secret...Any way this analysis don't tell us anything new...we already know there were underwatter cruise missile lunches from Ghadir submarine...But it is interesting how these western imbeciles try to impress their reader with stupidity....I remeber when same these "experts" published report about Ghadir....they claimed it is based on Yono class which itself is based on Yugoslavian submarine..they tag as Yugo class....which by the way I myself know and everyone from ex Yugoslavia it has 0 connection with reality..nothing even similar... even right now you can find it on wikipedia and many other sources. Infact submarine they point as yugo class and was similar visualy with Yono when Yono is spoted first time.... is Heroj class, submarine with displacement more than 600t and almost 2 times longer than Yono ..and which only visualy look like Ghadir... but Sava class looks also similar visualy even this is even bigger boat with 750t displacement. It seems when first time they spot north korean yono class they were similar visualy and they make connection.I saw all classes of Yugoslavian made submarine with my eyes and even today in museum available....Yugoslavian submarines that North Korea could get(since no one ever confirmed this) from Yugoslavia are Una class but it is nowhere even close to Yono and Ghadir in any terms...it is not even armed with torpedo tubes...This is one example how idiotic claimes can be accepted and you can find this description about Ghadir and Yono class everywhere right now ,even it has zero connection with reality...I mean just check submarines Yugoslavia produced...I couldn't even verify we(ex-Yugoslavia) sell any submarines to N.Korea even everything from wwII to 1990 is declassified and available thus many people who worked on Yugoslavian projects were(or still live)when I,and many others, tryed to check more about subs delivered to N.Korea...If Yugoslavia had project like Yono it would produce it for our RM instead of Una class...or it would be in archive somewhere

He was only giving an example and did not specify that the one they tested on the Ghadir sub has that range! Ghadir subs don't have the sensor capability to target anything at that range and even if the data was fed to them they simply don't carry enough firepower and lack the speed and range needed to be used in that role for a moving target at that range the Gadir sub would need to be in communication with the missile most of the way (almost 10 min) which would give away the subs location and against an enemy like the U.S. that will be able to track you and has the Air assets and weapons to deal with you giving them ~10 min to deal with you (sub) and the missile fired at them is just too much time with not enough missiles to overwhelm their defenses where as a fire and forget missile popping out of the water from only 30km out would be far more deadly due to the limited reaction time they would have to respond to the threat

Nasr is powered by rocket engines and the Nasir is basically the jet engine version of that missile which will likely be used for a longer ranged version but the limitation of the range of the ones for the Ghadir subs has more to do with the subs sensor and targeting capability rather than Iran's ability to test a longer ranged version
Chinese c-708una use ins/sat navigation for mid course guidance,so Ghadir needs only lunch missile,Iran use sat links for UAVs,they can use it for mid-curse guidance and missile use activ radar seeker in terminal phase,so there is no any reason Ghadir can't fire c-801/2 variant...I don't know did they developed ins/sat navigation for cruise missiles but has sense to do it..

Iran has the experience of making hovercraft style "Younos 6" and has just announced that we will soon see the launch of the new Iranian hovercraft.

Air cushioned vehicles make a lot of sense in places like the persian gulf, especially as landing craft. If iran is serious about a new more offensive mindset in response to military provocations or attempts at invasions/occupations of its islands then it should definitely be looking at these.
One option would be evaluating the dprk kong bang 2&3 designs as just as with their minisubs the north has a lot of experience with these platforms, not to mention that irans existing models date back all the way back to the 70s,and some of these are based on even older 60s designs.

Iran already builds hovercraft---Tondar

Yes,but these are either rebuilds of,or copies of the old mid 60s era sr.n6 which was designed for commercial not military service,in addition the iranian examples were purchased way back in the 70s.
The dprks kong bangs are supposedly based on the sr.n6,but have been redesigned specifically for military use.

IRGC naval commander General Tangsiri :
the submarine we are looking for is a Midget class that is more advanced than the Ghadir submarine, we are looking for Fateh or the Persian Gulf submarine which is under construction by defense ministry.

He said IRGC navy was first unite to incorporate the underwater launched Nasr missile.
regarding the underwater launched cruise missile which was unveiled a few years ago, he said we plan to use it but can't give more details.

IRGC plans to build a 65 meter long ship, capable of launching missiles and torpedos and has a Helicopter pad.
(Catamaran class perhaps)

IRGC has developed a weapon to counter the American laser guns.

Is khalije Fars same as Besat?
Most likely not,IRGC navy is operating in persian Gulf, Hormuz and there larger submarines can't operate properly and are very easy targets.Nahang submarine class and Ghadir class is used by IRGC navy,if they seek larger and more capable submarines it will still be up to 350-450t displacement,it makes sense to go for large subs only if they intend to incrase operational perimeter outside P.Gulf.

Nahang is not operational. It was a POC project to test systems that eventually found their way to Fateh class submarine.
