Iran unveils hypersonic weapon 'Fattah'

One more aspect of a missile maneuvering at hypersonic speed that you seem to overlook. The turn radius of the SR-71 Blackbird flying at MACH 3 was 50 miles. Turning the Fattah traveling at hypersonic speeds with thrust vector will be akin to trying to steer the Titanic with a teaspoon. Contrary to the widely held belief the TVC on the Fattah is meant for endgame maneuvering when the vehicle slows down enough to receive mid course updates.

Bad example.

When you are moving thru space and high speed only a very small course correction is needed to move MILES away from a target.

That is why early BM’s were so inaccurate. Because even though they were fast traveling and arrived to their target in 5-10mins, the gyroscope that guided them would over time be less and less accurate causing very tiny deviations in trajectory that would then correspond to 100’s of meters off target. Having a nuke didn’t matter if it was even 2KM off target. But having a conventional did.

Lastly Fattah warehead also has GLNSS upload so theoretically it could hit a moving target <1 min to target because course correction is very tiny to catch a ship that has only moved maybe 1KM-2KM during that time frame. It’s not like a destroyer can move hundreds of miles in 5 mins. But again Fattah would be a waste on a single ship unless it’s an aircraft carrier.

As for interceptor, even the largest interceptor only have enough fuel to make a very small amount of course corrections in a specific engagement altitude. Basic physics tells you an anti BM-interceptor carrying its entire warhead and missile body flying uprwards against gravity cannot make the same turns at high speeds that a small aerodynamic warhead can make MOVING WITH gravity.

The only system that can intercept this on the Israeli side might be the arrow 4 still in development. This already defeats arrow 3. But the thing with exoatmospheric Hypersonics is that they are incredibly hard to detect so even Arrow 4 success rate will be no where close to a Patriot trying to intercept a traditional ballistic path (ie 1960’s scud)

For obvious reasons, CGI has to be incorporated to show glide flight paths, no camera could withstand those extreme of temperates to show you exactly what happens. The final few seconds where it hits the target is the real clip.
all the video from the separation forward was CGI for the obvious reason that we don't have camera technology to withstand the burning heat of hyper-sonic intra atmospheric flight .
I also believe th last part was also cgi

There is a limit to impact velocity by physics. Above a certain speed deep inside the atmosphere, a warhead would disintegrate or be crushed from atmospheric pressure and gravity.
Brother so what purpose of ordinary MRBM/IRBM if their warheads can't have terminal velocities of above Mach 5??? You re-branded new BM as a hypersonic weapon nothing special about it

All MRBM and IRBM have terminal/impact velocity of above Mach 5, so nothing special here
This missile can Maneuver inside and outside of atmosphere. Also its speed is around 13 mach.

..er.. it’s not an anti-radiation missile.
You can find air defence location and attack with this missile
Cep :10 m

Not trying to offend anyone but is this a joke?

Look at impact image/clip of the missile its clearly shows its current impact velocity is lower than mach 5 where warhead clearly seen

Not a joke dude but its serious development in missile technology by Iran

You can see missile speed with your eyes?

Also its video is a cgi work.

No this missile is end of air defense systems.
And than how you claim that it have impact velocity of mach 5 then??? If this impact clip is cgi???

Propaganda by Iran???

Have heard layered air defense system??? SM-3/SM-6 on Naval ships THAAD/and PAC-3 on land

Lol
Jews and muricans will see this missile soon.

All air defense systems can detect missiles with regular direction. If a missile Maneuver in high speed, all air defence systems will fail

I gotta say,Iranians might not be good at making aircraft, tanks and generally everything else...but when it comes to ballistic missiles, they are pretty darn good.

Combat drones..

Lol your this missile is not invincible /invisible we have a technology to intercept these kinds of targets to at least mid to late 70s when Soviets developed same technology to avoid interception by ABMs

So you claim this missile is a FOBS fractional orbital bombardment system? The Chinese FOB travelled 40,000 Km for a 100 minutes So why is the advertised range of the Fattah only a 1,000 km? True a small course correction is needed after the vehicle performs an intense retrograde burn to stabilize its orbit. Now all this would be an amazing feat for a small missile like the Fateh. The Chinese launched their FOB on a DF41, a missile that is nearly a 100 ft long.

Unless the target or a surface sensor is constantly sending the missile it’s GPS coordinates I don’t see how the Fattah can perform course corrections. Plus you forget the hot plasma around a descending warhead that makes it nearly impossible to datalink with the missile. Hot plasma absorbs all radio frequencies good luck sending or receiving any data. Then there is the question of onboard electronics surviving sustained temperatures in excess of 3,000° Fahrenheit /1649 °C.

Also, a destroyer can be anywhere in a 10 mile radius by the time the warhead makes its descend.
