BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:15 A.M.) – Iran is preparing to supply the Syrian Armed Forces with their new domestically-made warplane and S-300 missile system, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News last night.

According to the source, the Iranians are planning to supply the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) with their newest warplane, which is dubbed the “Kowsar.”

Furthermore, the Iranian military is planned to supply Syria with their own version of the S-300 missile defense system.

No date was given regarding this transfer.

The Iranian military receive their first batch of S-300 missile defense systems last year after they purchased them from the Russian government.

Iran often produces their own domestically-made military equipment that is modeled after U.S. and Russian manufactured weapons; this has been a concern for Israel, as they fear these weapons will be transferred to their allies like Hezbollah.

Best way to test your weapon efficiency is front line position where it can Tag a F16 or F15

Not quite clear about their local fighter Jet program still have to see numbers like 100-200 crafts before anything can be exported to Syria

But Iranian S-300 would be a certainly realistic goal

I don't understand this kowsar thing. Some say "it's a F-5 upgrade package" some say "it's completely new plane". What's that?

About time. Israel will think twice before invading Syria air space ever again. Lebanon should get some too to defend its airspace from Israel.

I see a glass cockpit. So is that an avionic upgrade program?

The problem is Iran S-300 would be ready at March 2019

Kowsar wouldn't do much an impact for Israeli attack but S-300 does

:hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall:

Iran is supposedly going to supply weapons that itself hasn't inducted.
To Syria, which is really in Russia's dept for saving her.
Yes, Russia, the primary weapons supplier.

Kowsar has no chance against F-15 or F-16 . but its a good trainer .

It would be fun to see Bavar373 in Syria .
