Iran to Rank 1st in Science, Technology by 2025

lol
the link we were giving you already had 2010 as the input. The only way it could have changed was if you changed it to 1996-2010 yourself so nice try

and dammam eh? Why are all Saudi Pakistanis so anti Iran? Musa has the audacity to call others brainwashed.

Well I went to the website home myself to see if it was authentic.

Then I went to the ranking of countries and it automatically uses the 1996-2010 stats.

Don't believe me, you can check it out yourself.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Science, Research and Technology Minister Seyed Javad Sadatinejad boasted the country's astonishing progress in science and technology, and said Iran will stand first in the region in terms of science and technology by 2025.

If this comes to pass it will only be because "the region" does not include Israel in the minds of Iranain leaders. There is no way that Iran will surpass Israel in science and technology in the 21st century. To think otherwise is to live in a fantasy world. Of course, the Iranian Mullahs DO live in a fantasy world, to the extreme!!!

Iran is number 2 in the region when it comes to science.

Is it possible that Iran will be number 1, I will tell the truth and obviously telling lies is Haraam, its certainly possible.

Maybe even sooner, because it is neck and neck with Turkey.

Musa, stop acting so irrational.
As we speak, there are job advertisements in my school's bulletin boards from KSA. You guys are paying 100K + salaries for a simple warehouse manager (no tax plus living expenses included). 1/3 of your country is foreign worker. Why is it so wrong to deduce that your science is also being produced by foreigners?

Actually you do not have to deduce anything. I know it for a fact. Alot of Pakistanis who I know with PhD's from western countries are paid top dollars by KSA to just work in their universities, publishing articles and stuff. Very few articles in KSA are published by Saudi citizens themselves and most are foreigners on work visas there. I know it for a fact from first hand personal sources.

Israel is 7 spots behind. By 2025, the gap will be wider than Hillary's vagina (we have the fastest growth on earth).

true
I mean when they're paying 100K dollars, no tax, with FULL benefits including housing, for a warehouse manager, than it's obvious that they're paying for much higher skilled people as well. My 27 year old classmate has been a warehouse manager for 5+ years (started working right out of high school because he couldn't afford university) and he's only getting 45K here in Canada (has to pay taxes and very few benefits). I showed him the add and he almost had a heart attack lol

Ok, so Iran is number 2 in the region when it comes to science.

Is it possible that Iran will be number 1, I have to tell the truth, its certainly possible.

If they maintain their current growth rate then they should be able to take over Turkey in 2012 or 2013, and will overtake Canada at 2017. The key here is if they maintain the growth levels. Any instability of political or military/security nature will reduce the growth for sure and might even stop it if not completely going into negative growth. The other factor is that as the science production increases, maintaining the growth becomes very difficult as more money needs to be invested in research. So Iran must also keep increasing the funding for the research or else the growth will stop.

Yeah even at my university we have a great Pakistani PhD doctor who is working in research but we all get around him to learn how to do research and stuff so we do all the little stuff around him and little by little he is making us take more sensitive assignments. In time we will have a growth spike as well it is just our time hasn't come yet but I figure it to be around 2015-2017.

PakShah,

I really admire your morality to accept the truth when confronted with evidence and give credit. Very few people can do that in the world. Most prefer to remain ignorant forever even after seeing the evidence.

Its UnIslamic to deny facts.

And how am I an idiot when I accepted the facts. I just wanted to see if your sources were authentic and they are. Is that asking for too much?

Oh also forgot to mention this year I saw something that was really a big surprise for me. I saw 5 Pakistani students at my college on an exchange program. I guess that means we will have more and more co-operation in the future.

I hope so too. But as I said, I am doubtful. The reason for my doubt, has roots in my understanding of history. Iranians were doing such things as you are doing now all along since late 1800's up until 1980's. Iranians were being sent to Europe for studying and alot of foreign specialists were working in Iran. But Iran never started to produce anything of substance at all during all those times. Infact when revolution and war happened then even that little science production stopped since all foreigners run away because of war. It was only when Iran had to grow up and depend on itself that Iran became the Iran of today.

Then you have the case of Chinese with similar story, the case of Russians and even Japanese. All used foreigners but only when they could no longer depend on them that they worked on their own. And it is a very difficult process to wean off from foreign help. Read the history of these countries to understand. Until Saudis are not confronted with similar hardship circumstances they will never be able to do it purely by themselves. Imagine how hard it is going to be for Saudi Arabia to develop its own satellite launcher using only Saudi scientists and under sanctions. That is what I am talking about.

It is ok, bro, let it go, he is a young hot blood and he does not mean anything bad. That is what is important, we are learning stuff from each other and with new perspectives on the issues.

Yes, I know some students from Pakistan who study in Saudi Arabia also I know students from Pakistan who are studying in Iran and Iranians who are studying in Pakistan. It is quite normal, except that I do not know any Saudis who study in Pakistan. I do not think Saudis come to Pakistan for study at all.

Actually there are plenty of Saudis who come to Pakistan to study:

Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Receives Saudi Students of the Naval College in Lahore
Saudi Gazette - Saudi students in Pakistan apply for transfer: Official

They do go there but they waned a bit due to the security situation.
