Iran signs $5 billion natural gas deal with France’s Total and Chinese firm

lol , man , iran regime always makes retarded deals , back in 2004 turkcell was supposed to come here but instead they gave it to a south african company MTN ! 51 percent for MTN and 49 for iran
That was because Turkcell wanted a much larger stake,70%,than the 49% iran was willing to offer, plus there were also national security issues with turkey being a nato member and friendly with israel,in the end it was Turkcell who walked away from the deal and took Iran to arbitration as well, which it lost.MTN had been one of the front runners in the original negotiations so its not surprising that when the turks pulled out negotiations were reopened with MTN.

This is not true. At that time Turkcell won the auction with best offer.

still , all hostilities aside , i'm sure Turkcell would have provided much higher quality services now , they even offer landline internet .

and south africa is much closer to israel than turkey ..

Yes,but irans parliament voted to cut turkcells stake to 49% rather than the 70% they wanted, they then claimed that because they couldnt get the larger stake that they wanted it was no longer economically worthwhile and pulled out,so iran reopened negotiations with MTN

You could be right, however in 2004 turkey and israel were very, very cozy indeed, this was of course before the israeli attack on the mavi marmara which badly soured israeli-turkish relations for several years, but regardless turkey is still a nato state so I think it was ultimately the correct decision to look elsewhere.

What you say is not compatible with international law.
The license has already received the turkcell company.
As far as the percentage is concerned, there are only speculations.
It can be that the company MTN has to pay a compensation of US$4.2bn.

Its iranian national law that takes precedents in this case and that gives irans parliament the right of veto, the turkish company took it to arbitration and lost..so game over, bad luck for turkcell, better luck next time, now as for turkcells lawsuit against MTN,well in all honesty that really does look like nothing more than sour grapes.

As I said before, the national laws (corruption) are not compatibel with the world. Thus, Iran can never be integrated into the financial system. There are standards that must be adhered to.

It was a private arbitration and there is no game over.
In the past, Iran had made the same mistake and lost $1.9 billion.
The case with MTN will only take time and the compensation will have to be paid at the end.

Lol... if every country that has corruption can't be integrated into the financial system, how do you think the financial system runs nowadays? Certainly not because the countries involved in it are corruption-free societies.

You're right. They have chosen other reasons.

There was no corruption involved this was simply about good old iranian nationalism and national security concerns,it was a majority of irans parliament who were against the idea of turkcell having more than a 49% stake in the new provider and that was that,it was turkcell who ultimately chose to walk away from the deal and now since they failed to get any recompense from iran in arbitration have decided for whatever reason to go after mtn alleging that mtn was somehow responsible for their problems in iran which I think frankly is quite ridiculous but there you go.

This must be decided by the courts. You cannot tell the courts fairy tales because they look at the things objectively.
With stories like "good old iranian nationalism" you can deceive iranian people.
But on international stage they are accept only facts and valid proofs.
MTN expect uncomfortable times. This can also be seen in the fact that their share values fell by 50%.
