Iran signs $5 billion natural gas deal with France’s Total and Chinese firm

France itself declared they will go solar and no more oil exploration permits will be given in France.
Iran should learn from it and stop depending on Oil. Rather, it has to invest heavily in solar.

Better idea - sell oil as fast as we can while it is still relevant, and use the funds to invest in diversifying our economy.

firstly this is a gas project, not oil.

secondly we share this field with Qatar, so if we hesitate they will take it all.

thirdly anybody who has said they will go solar, has fooled you, unless you have discovered a sun for the nights too!

Iran had so much time to exploit the South Pars gas field, where was IRGC?
IRGC lack of the technology to do it?
Whats with russian/chinese companies? Are they not interested in it?
Modi is busy bending over to his masters trump and netanjahu, they tried to hoax Iran, so India withdraw...

Mohsen, you need to understand the concept of energy storage. In addition, currently wind is a playing a significantly larger source of green energy than solar.

IRGC already completed the phase 15,16 which Korean Hyundai left.
they are also working on the phases 13 and 22-23-24 jointly with some Iranian companies like MAPNA.

as the head of Khatam said, for the recent project (phase 11), oil ministry refused to run a tender, and didn't even inform the IRGC. they just gave the project to Total, people are suspicious it's been a secret side deal of the JCPOA too.

1999 Iran and TOTAL agreed to work on phase 11.
2000 an MOU was signed.
later Malaysian Petronas joined the project too (Iran 50%, TOTAL 40%, Petronas 10%)
2000-2006 was spent for engineering studies and negotiation!
2006-2008 negotiation continued for the new price which TOTAL offered ($10 billion), Iran refused and finally TOTAL left the project.
2009 a $5 billion contract was signed by Chinese company CNPC.
2009-2012 Chinese did nothing and each time came up with a new excuse.
2013 Iran finally revoked the deal with China.
2013-2014 negotiation with Iranian companies PetroPars and PetroIran led to nothing.
2014-2017 was spent by this government praying for JCPOA!

2017 and current contract: TOTAL 51%, Chinese CNPCI 30%, Iranian PetroPars 19.9%

You can forget the energy storage in industrial level. maybe in the far far future, but not now.
all of the green energies are unreliable, inconstant and way too expensive, more like a side hobby for governments to study the potentials.

@mohsen just look up these:

The distribution is unjust for Iran.
Why Iran has agreed to the deal?

because obviously france and china have more technology to develop iran's gas field ! iran only has a qatar story to share

Got it but then I would not share this gas field with two great powers.
Iran should close the deal with only one country.
40 to 49% would have been possible.

Why did you bring china into the boat?
Without china you had more.

lol , man , iran regime always makes retarded deals , back in 2004 turkcell was supposed to come here but instead they gave it to a south african company MTN ! 51 percent for MTN and 49 for iran

you can ask the people in power like mohsen , amirkababi , yavar and so on  they are the ones whose fathers pay for their expenses in london by sealing such deals with china

no seriously man , china does a lot of business with iran since the revolution in the 80's be it the plastic goods they sold us back then :
