Iran Plans to Send Astronauts into Space for Space Biology Studies

Antariksh yatri in Hindi.

Hey, this is very similar to Hindi/Urdu. Is this Farsi?

In Hindi/Urdu it is "Soheil bobara shuru kardi?" translation "Soheil you have started again?"

Yes, it is Farsi and has the same meaning as your translation.

"Khalayi-Baaz" is an astronaut in Urdu.

What do you call an astronaut in Hindi?

Iranian Space Program came out of the blue, unsure where its heading but they're definitely trying to impress the world. Nationalism and prestige has sky rocketed in Iran and their space program is moving at a breath taking speed. Gone are the days when Iranian Government announcements were taken as a pinch of salt.

The Space Program is an Iranian tool to win hearts and minds in the Muslim world, just like the United States used NASA to project America's soft power globally.

However, countries do launch ambitious space programs to hide their Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile research.

dont know what isro is going to call it (somebody said vyomnaut). but in hindi it could be mahakash yatri?

@arp2041 @Armstrong, your valued comments on this wonderful news will be much appreciated.

A country that has trouble refining it own oil to the best industry standards out there sending astronauts into space for biology studies either thinks too highly of themselves or if by some miracle it can, it has its priorities seriously skewed.

I'll guess that is what happens when you have enough talented people in your society, but misuse them, since many of these programs are in the hands of unschooled Pasdars, who are only good at making bold statements.

If we look better on it, all of them happened during last year. in the first of 2012 since we faced really new brutal sanction. we have less budget, our currency fell down, high Inflation، terrible economy situation,Constraint relations, pressure in all fields... beside what you said about talent and expert people.
another big problem is about management. They really have problems about how to manage organizations and projects.
in all these years, they really waste money ( and experience of last manager and team workers who were in charge before) for each important project. If they had a better management they could get better result or same result with less budget. since we have less budget because of sanction, they find problems in their projects and cant reveal them as they promised, or when they reveal them, you can see the result is terrible and it's not what it should be. (like last reveals, it's because of what i said above).

similar statements were made about india and china in 50s, 60s and 70s

there were similar statements forcing budget cuts in american space programme during kennedy's time

and today there are similar statements for indian space programme too....

and IMO all these statements are useless....

any development should always be welcome...

To be fair:
1. Iran was ranked 12th world refining power in the 2012 BP update which is Ok for its size. This shift might be due to Chinese help!
2. I agree with you that manned missions are nothing but show off. Maybe, the only benefit is manned space station.

According to unofficial Chinese internet sources, an Iranian participation in the future Chinese space station program has been discussed. This involvement might range from simply sending astronauts to the 60 tons class space station to contributing with development of a space laboratory module. International manned space cooperation has officially been disclosed for the first time after the launch of the Chinese Shenzhou 7 spacecraft.

dude, only clowns like Hyperion take your words serious because it seems you have no information regarding Iranian petrochemical industry.in fact your comment was laughable.
I understand you wish Pakistan was sending manned or unmanned sats into orbit.but by insulting Iran, your dreams wont come true!

@Armstrong Iran petrochemical industry is actually one of its main sources of revenue, so I think you should have at least used Uncle Google (as Indonesians like to call it) before commenting...

However, Iran DOES have limited petroleum refining capacity! @Abi why is that my friend?! :D

As long as the Iranians don't rush into anything, they'll be fine. Just look at China... that seemingly ever so slow, calm and steady speed of their space program, yet they've marched so far ahead of many others with an impressive quality and quantity record in their space exploration.
