Exactly. Smaller countries also develop faster, which means there's a chance that the region can have a future after all. Iran is shitting on Iranian history and legacy anyway. Today's Iran is an arab country in all but name. Arab leaders, arab state religion, arab laws, arab traditions (i.e. hijab and shria law)... There's nothing worth keeping. Even if it breaks up, at least there's a chance that the smaller states will follow Iranian traditions and culture instead of the culture of the lizard eaters over the pond. Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Parsa etc... Much better than Arabistan cloaked under the name of Iran.

That's exactly right. Even the same thing is true for Arabs. Sunni arabs and Shia arabs need to have their own separate countries in Iraq and Syria and Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. desert dwellers of Najd are needed to be separated from the historical islamic region of Hijaz, which is important for all muslims, ...
The fact is that, whether we like it or not, the process of changing the region is already started, and it is going in a good direction.

I think Iraq and Afghanistan post invasion shows you that it is not that simple.

Iraq and AFG are tribal 6th century villages. Iranians are all educated and far more intellectual. Iranians also don't fight. Unlike Afghans and Iraqis, 99 percent of Iranians (except those that have done military service) haven't even seen a weapon from up close.

You take out the tribal element, the religious element and the cultural element and you have no reason to fight. Iran can be post war Germany, Japan or South Korea.

BTW, the current day Afghanistan is like a paradise compared to what it was during taliban. USA has done a big favor for afghans. The same is true for Iraq as well, but Iraq's situation needs much more changes as well. Iraq is like a patient who has done an operation yesterday and needs another one today.

As for Afghanistan I agree but the corruption of their leaders and the fact that NATO and friends turn a blind eye towards said corruption does not help things. The fact is removing all of the bold is easier said than done.

It would require more troops and bombardments then Iraq in 1991 ( 700.000 + troops ), they can't take that economically, they're not even doing anything in Syria so you shouldn't think they will do something.
