star wars was a term discussing US plan to establish an space based laser defense to kill soviet ballistic missiles flying toward their soil.
yes it was, but for some reason you never tire of borrowing "great satan" terminology. last time it was drone asking brotherly patriot battery for directions and now this. you all keep giving the impression that someone other than the Supreme Leader is pulling your strings

well great satan has good terminology.
lol you still struggle with that joke??
damn it guys he finally knows. time to light up our flying saucer and go back to our planet.

Hello obsessed sectarian salafist. Still peddling the lie that Iranians don't think Pakistanis are Muslim? :)

ok.. no offence... either fake/bad or russia assisted...

Not fake, not Russia assisted, but absolutely true.

Here the earliest known public hint, from 4th March 2016:

And 5 years later, the first official announcement from 6th Jannuary 2021:

North Korea forms new research center focused on “hypersonic missiles”

The center has been ordered to conduct “full-fledged development of hypersonic guided missiles and shipboard laser weapons,” a source told Daily NK

Is there any possibility that F-313 arm with Tactical Laser System like in the Ace combat one in the future?

Indeed, this comes as no surprise, since powerful enough laser can only be envisaged on the largest platforms due to its inherent huge energy consumption, that is requiring no less than several Megawatts output!

This limits the use of lasers to either ground facilities or large naval cruisers, either nuclear powered ones, or fitted with the newest electric powerbanks, and better to nuclear aircraft carriers.

While the useful range also limit its use to laser Close-In Weapons System (CIWS).

But, this is only true to the minor players such as Russia, Europe, India including of course Iran.

Because there is a revolution coming this year in this field, a true game changer.

Elon Musk was tasked by the Secret Master of the World to provide a cover to the U.S. military as a strawman in pushing the buildup of the Dystopian Empire's forces to the next stage:

Starlink Orbital Satellite Array: that enables both the age of the Internet of Military Things (IoMT) warfare, the God's Eye view capability, the Star Wars Global Missile Interceptor System, and the real-time continuous recharging of field robotic armies.

SpaceX Space Transportation Systems: that enables both the the deployment of the Starlink Orbital Satellite Array with 42'000 orbital platforms and its continuous upkeep, with the Falcon 9 series rockets, and the creation of a totally new Empire built throughout the Solar System's planets, counterpart of the Earth's Old World, exclusively populated by synthetic and robotic subjects, and that will therefore supersede humankind. For this task, Falcon Heavy and Starships rockets will complete a fleet of second generation methalox propellant Reusable VTVL Heavy rockets that would ferry continuously all the hardware and robots for a century to the Moon, Mars and beyond.

Boring Mass Transportation Company: that allows to replace airliners with ground maglev transport, on the Moon, Mars and Mercury where planes can not operate without a dense atmosphere, throughout the Solar System's New Empire.

Tesla Electric Automotive Industries: that enables the U.S. military to field new generation of wheeled robotic vehicle.

Tesla Electric Automotive Industries is simply completing the U.S. military's triad of Air UAVs, Underwater UUVs, and Naval Unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) with the ground platform counterparts. This means armies of robotic infantry once HALO (high altitude – low opening, often called a HALO jump) paradropped in remote Iranian desert insertion point will not be constrained to advance by walking on their two or four legs (i.e. the logistic robotic mules), but will be able to rush at great speed on board TESLA self-driving electric wheeled combat vehicles, paradropped along the robotic infantry units. This is paramount as refueling will not be available, and a continuous electric recharging of the batteries in real time via the orbital Starlink satellite array will ensure weeks of field operation.

Self-driving infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) will carry the robots, while accompanying Self-driving self-propelled artillery systems (SPA), Self-driving self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG), Self-driving Self-Propelled Anti-Tank Guided Missile System (SPATGM), Self-driving Tank Destroyer (SPTD) will provide additional firepower needed to defeat any enemy opposition when proceeding toward the underground Khojir Missile Complex located East of Tehran!

More fire support such as bunker busters will naturally be available with swarms of accompanying stealth UAVs evolving up to the Near-Space altitude, and all connected and controlled through Internet of Military Things (IoMT) satlinks.

Finally, self-driving robotic wheeled lasers are now available to these U.S. expeditionary forces.

Indeed, the capacity to recharge in real-time via the Starlink Orbital Satellite Array make field lasers possible for the first time in history!

Technically a mirror can defeat laserz eh?

I will take plasma weapon pls

This is not how directed energy weapons work. This silly nonsense repeated here in PDF again and again, years after years, post after post, by the professional paid troll of the great agencies.

Like all the other PDF "consensus". :omghaha:

Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) such as lasers don't even need to interact with the target directly!

Mirrors would melt due to the contact with the overheated air to several thousands of degree centigrad!

As theorized by its Nipponese military pioneers in the late 1930s of Manchukuo's Unit 731, air breakup and ionization are the key principles behind by the Microwave Anti-Air Weapon of the Second Naval Technology Factory Ushio Laboratory (第二海軍技術廠牛尾実験所) located 34°51'23.8"N, 138°07'44.6"E [1], and by extension all Directed Energy Weapons.

And this is why the U.S. Starlink Orbital Satellite Array is the fruition of the Cold War era 1980s Star Wars Global Missile Interceptor System, able to defeat all ballistic missiles, including the hypersonic ones such as HGVs, and at the speed of light!

It is childish to think mirror deflects high power laser back to the enemy.

Yet there are numerous ways of defeating laser:
1- Thermal blooming:
Atmospheric thermal blooming has been a major problem, still mostly unsolved and worsened if there is fog, smoke, dust, snow, rain or purposely dispersed obscurant chemicals in the air. Essentially, a laser generates a beam of light which needs clear air, or a vacuum to work.

2- Defocusing techniques:
Laser beam has to focus on a point for a reasonable time.

How can you defeat EM pulses:

- Input Output coupling.

- Protective input and output circuits.

- Shielding. You can shield a BM easily but you cannot perfectly shield a 60 kg Asimo robot that you send into Iran.

The Asimo robot will be burnt with a simple hand held EM gun.

You can use laser to shoot down drones in its terminal stage , burn out missiles nose seekers or shoot down even high speed targets like hypersonic cruise missiles if laser is powerful enough.

However the devices focus on one target at a time and it needs to continiously focus from a relatively shorter range because of atmospheric scattering reducing lasers power at longer ranges. This gives a small time for a single battery to engage multiple incoming targets at once.

In order to stop a swarm attack involving many cruise missiles many of those laser vehicles are necessary including the substitute vehicles while others are cooling down after firing. Cool down period should be as low a possible. Power output should be high. Since it also needs a very short time to disable the target within its range to start cooling down and then focusing on the next target. As it is one to one engagement with little time to focus onto next target as the previous target is neutralized within a shorter range of engagement.

But one to many engagement is possible by a sam system that can engage a mach 6-7 target for example from much longer ranges. Also targets can be detected from longer ranges and they wont have a stealthy shape to reach high mach speeds because of aerodynamics and materials to resist heat at that speed. Laser can be used as a terminal measure against targets which passes through the longer range missile defense.

Another option of the use of laser is to blind the optical system of spy satellites. China has tested more than a decade ago such system. Optical sensors of spy sats have high gain and this is very possible but the satellites are very far away. The laser vehicle required would be very large and perhaps a static building instead of a mobile vehicle making itself an easy target. Optical camouflage type of measures would work better unless those disadvantages are handled. Also it wont work against SAR-imaging type of spy satellites which requires a deceptive type of jamming which is another topic.

In this article it mentions about Usa developing 250-300kw laser to shoot down cruise missiles.

However one thing that can be researched about hypersonic targets is if one wing is heated by something like a laser does it have effects on the airflow and flight control, stability of the missile.

Zircon-Missile.jpg

For example can heating one wing or tail fin of the hypersonic cruise missile with a 100kw laser result in more airflow and roll moment or high vibration at mach5+ speed which would result in loss of stability-control effectively shooting down the missile without burning a hole on it. ionisation of air on one side would also result in less friction on one wing and more friction on the other wing. 250kw-300kw laser would be too large but 100kw laser truck can be achievable and more mobile in that case and be effective enough against hypersonic cms. You also dont need laser to shoot down subsonic cruise missiles.

Since most countries dont have hypersonic cruise missiles this can be experimented by simulations and tested on laser targeting wings of high mach test rockets mocking cruise missiles. Targeting the wing is difficult but can be estimated or if it is controlled by tail fins you can estimate the target as close as possible by considering the length of the missile.

keeping a laser beam locked on a mach 10++ vehicle flying inside a plasma envelop for long duration to heat up a wing...not very doable in my mind. At such speeds the target will be out of line of sight in a very short time (curvature of the earth) so a truck mounted laser is also not very effective as a concept in those speeds.

Seems like destruction of a powerplant by a missile that manages to skip through would shut down the whole system as opposed to traditional AD that can operate independently without reliance on static structures.

.
For the next few decades these lasers may end up having use against lower tier systems however they will not be able to defend against high end kinetic systems. The issue with lower tier systems like Swarm UAVs etc is that its the sheer number of them that makes them so hard to defend against and not because they are individually difficult to deal with. These lasers are a decent addition to the air defence layers but are nothing game changing.
