Persian was considered to be the language of intellectuals at one point in time.
It is still the language of intellectuals

Persian was not the language he only used for his poets, unlike Ottoman and Mughal poets, but also outside his poets. He could not speak Azeri, and certainly wasn't part of your artificial-created people. He was Persian, spoke Persian from his birth and lived in a region where Persians were the majority.
Azeri means Azerbaijani, which itself is a Persian word. Your country has been part of our history for more than 3000 years.
I suggest you find out the difference between poets and poems
like I stated before you cannot prove he is Iranian himself just because he lived in the city with iranian population
spoke persian from his birth? proof?
Completely in Persian ?
Then how the heck can I completely understand it ?
Its in Persianized Urdu - a language that already borrows heavily from the Persian Language !
For Example if I were to say that I'd have both of your nuts crushed by having them smashed by a fat arsed kitab - We'd both know that (i) your nuts are made of Jell-O & (ii) Kitab is a Book !
He was Iranian since he spoke only Persian (no reference to him speaking Azerbaijani). Ganja (Ganj is a Persian word) was inhabited by a majority of Iranians, as various historians have mentioned, and most modern-day experts agree with this notion too.
Like I said, besides geography, he has nothing to do with your people and country.
I'd say give Nizami to us quietly & lets never talk about it again !

uhhhh with the same logic i can surely say he was an Azeri since he lived there
and no reference of him being Iranian since the city itself had a iranian population
like I stated before Persian was the language most poets used during that period
rmi5 is the only sane person here.
He can be valuable to both people, just like Rumi, he barely spoke Turkish but yet he had a strong spiritual influence in Anatolia, Mevlevi order came after him and many of his descendents were also important people, they're still around.
