The Americans should understand that the more they use their financial status as a weapon, the quicker they will lose it. Nothing stays the same in the universe, you best be careful when using your assets in the long run. Americans in a great part appear to act more like a country that is in a somewhat suicide mode rather than one carefully planning with the long distance future in mind.

There is a saying, with great power, comes great responsibility. The US was given incredible power by the world using the dollar as the reserve currency. But the arrogance and hubris of the neocons led them to weaponize this responsibility and now many countries are DESPERATELY trying to ditch the dollar as a reserve currency. China by far has the greatest capability and weight to do this because China is the world's LARGEST TRADING NATION and has already developed a technologically advanced digital Yuan. It just needs to rapidly convert its trade into Digital Yuan and get other countries to do the same in order to establish financial independence from the US.

If the US maintained a responsible and peaceful foreign policy which encouraged the rule of law and peaceful resolution of conflicts, it would have maintained a high level of trust from all other nations and seen far less challenges to its hegemonic status. Instead morons like the Neocons and Trump are blowing it fast.

Not really, Pakistan and Iran are two different countries and each port will serve their own purpose. The BIG PICTURE, which India keeps failing to see because it has such a deeply ingrained colonial mentality and servantile mentality to the Anglos, is that Eurasia is becoming a massive fortress and China/Russia/Iran/Pakistan with a massive population and landmass are going to anchor this fortress in order to create a massive sphere where economic development can take place and shift the center of the global economy from the fringes of Eurasia and North America back to the CENTER OF EURASIA, where it had existed for ALL OF HISTORY except for the last 300 years.

India could've become a major player in shaping the Eurasian future, but instead it is acting like a colonial appendage.

China is a global superpower and Iran is currently a regional superpower, when you consider the alignment of interest between these two nations in many areas and their historical ties, then it becomes a no brainer that there needs to be this great cooperation. Mark my words, you have seen nothing yet. This alignment will continue to grow greatly. With our Pakistani brothers and sisters part of this trilateral cooperation, even the sky is not the limit in terms what we can achieve. Everything we need is right there in this triangle, from human resources to natural resources.

Many Chinese firms do not do business in the US so the US can sanction them all they want, it won't affect their operations. The ironic thing is that the few Chinese corporations that were making inroads into the West, like Huawei, have gotten shut out, so Trump is removing the few incentives they had in cooperating.

Iran has dropped India from the Chabahar rail project. The rail line from Chabahar port to Zahedan was going to be India’s magnum opus as the bridge between India, Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asia.

Tehran’s decision has come within days of China finalising a huge $400 billion strategic partnership deal with Iran that will span over 25 years, which could shift the balance of power in the Indian Ocean in China’s favour.

Tehran’s excuse
The Iranian government cited funding delays from the Indian side for the $8 billion project that will run a rail line from the Chabahar port to Zahedan, which lies along the border of Afghanistan. This is a huge blow for India, which saw the port as a counterbalance to the Gwadar in Pakistan, which was built and run by China as a part of its China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

“For India, an extensive economic and security pact between Iran and China raises some critical concerns,” writes the Observer Research Foundation’s (ORF) Kabir Taneja. The distance between Pakistan’s Gwadar port and Iran’s Chabahar ports are often referred to as ‘sister ports’ with only a distance of 172 kilometres between them.

Officials told The Hindu that the project will now be completed by March 2022 without India’s assistance, using $400 million from the Iranian National Development Fund.

India may have dragged its feet on the project due to the fear of US sanctions
The Chabahar trilateral agreement — between Iran, Afghanistan and India — was meant to serve as an alternative trade route to Afghanistan and Central Asia.

Last week, Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Mohammad Eslami inaugurated the track-laying process for the Chabahar-Zahedan line, the first phase which will be extending to Zaranj across the border in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Iran has been facing the US’ ‘maximum pressure’ policy in the form of crippling sanctions and military options being laid on the table. So despite several site visits by Indian Railways Construction (IRCON) engineers, India never began work on the site for the fear of attracting US sanctions on New Delhi.

During the Manmohan Singh and Barack Obama era, India had already ‘zeroed out’ its oil imports from Iran leaving little else to negotiate with.

The Iran-China deal and the Indian Ocean
For Iran, the finalisation of the strategic partnership with China is a much-needed lifeline. The $400 billion will go a long way as investments in Iran’s oil and gas, infrastructure and transportation sectors.

After a near-war situation in Ladakh, where India and China share a border, the China-Iran deal will give China more access to the Indian Ocean region. It will be connected via Gwadar, Djibouti “and possible permanent military accesses arrangement with Iran,” said Taneja.

This is strange, why not a rail line from Pakistan Gawadar to Kandahar to kabul, mazar sharif into central asia, or from gawadar to kandahar to herat into central asia...

Modi and the BJP are strategic idiots. Their strategy has largely backfired on India's interests. China/Russia/Iran are the primary civilization states that span the humongous Eurasian continent and their alliance is solidifying this massive bloc into an indestructible fortress. India, instead, has chosen to become an appendage to the Anglo axis in the hope that it can get the crumbs from the declining Anglo world, OEM manufacturing, access to American universities, access to Silicon Valley, etc. But in the end, the costs will be heavy because India is becoming isolated in its own neighborhood and is the only American ally that shares a land border which makes it especially vulnerable to China's bully tactics. Whenever China gets pissed, it can lash out and punk India just like it did in Ladakh. Trump doesn't even deliver on his promises as evidenced by him cancelling H1B visas, which are dominated by Indians in Silicon Valley. By losing this port, India is losing any strategic foothold they had in the Middle East. It is losing its one attempt to compete with China and Pakistan's efforts in Gwadar.
