buddy that’s the difference between oil dependent nations
our new strategy is to clean house first
make us economically viable raise tax to gdp ratio
then we will extract our gold and oil and soo mich more resources
btw we can feed 10% of world population if agriculture is modernized which we r going to do sooner
so yea we r very well towards the right path

i agree, if you can do it good may Allah help you, but still like any other country you need oil to make stuff and keep engines running

Congrats.
Now focus on development of this find, instead of extending Islamic revolution across the borders.
Why develope it now .lets use our current oil fields then we think about the new one
Even if your statement would be true, and we would disregard the potential of carbon free energy, the world can still be without Irans share of oil reserves. A bitter reality, but empiric data supports it. As long as Iran's neighbors can backstab her by providing the lost share Iran is not exporting, then there is no end to current status quo. Iran is the only loser today. Not the world. Not US. Not ksa. The attack on Aramco was Iran’s way to change the tied. Ksa & co will never stop until they lose just as much as Iran or more. The only way to change this is to keep applying pressure.
Just look at the data that how much longer some countries can export oil.

except for the fact that it is under their protection for the foreseeable future
Well it's the result of being so popular around the world . if you envy it why you don't aim to be more like us ?

Most analysts agree that oil demand will peak by 2040 at the latest (in fact most studies suggest it will be between 2020-2030). That is only 20 years time. After then, demand will fall and prices will fall. New technologies will increase discoveries of new oil reserves across the world in that time as well, putting further deflationary pressure on oil prices.

Some say it can be good for Iran in that it reduces incentive/need for Iran to modernise its extraction technology now it has greater reserves overall. However, in my opinion even this is bad because Iran's extraction/production rates will continue to be inefficient and lag behind other countries and Iran's existing oil reserves wouldn't run out in the next 60 years anyway. And as long as Iran cannot export oil none of this matters.

But the best benefit is for petrochemicals, Iran has a huge growing petchem sector and this should be an area of huge investment.

Pipeline to pakistan is ages that is ready . it's pakistan that must boiled the pipeline on its side of border.
There is ni desire in Iranian side to follow the process......we have done all our commitment, brought pipline next to the border but they are not allowed to make a deal with Iran.
Recently I read that Iran and Pakistan made an agreement whereby Iran waived its right to sue Pakistan for breaching the agreement! Ridiculous.

Iran can have gazillions of oil reserves. It doesn’t matter if they export less than Mexico.
Um, i disagree.

Oil is power, whether u can export or not. For one, do you think Iran wouldnt have collapsed economically(and probably politically) without oil? NO WAY. Countries without oil will take national oil "resources" today even if they cant export. There is domestic consumption and raw material(oil) for finished goods that an oil producing country can rely on.
