You gotta see it from their point of view as well. They see it as an Iranian invasion by armed forces which resulted in the taking over of UAE administrated islands. In times where military invasion ans annexing is condemned by the world community. If Iran truly had rights it could have went at the time and took its issue to the UN but instead it conducted a military invasion.

Imagine right now Azerbaijan military invades what it calls southern Azerbaijan and says "It belonged to us since then and that" how would you feel about it???

Listen my friend, Palestine was occupied by the Brits. Right? So the Brit.s gave Palestine to Israelis. What the heck is wrong with you Arabs that you claim Israel belongs to Palestinians? Every sane person knows that Palestine belongs to Palestinian people and just because British forces had occupied their motherland it doesn't legitimize them giving the land to someone else.

Iran had never denounced its ownership of the 3 Islands even when the British had occupied them during the Persian constitutional revolution. Moreover, Iran seized the 3 Islands before the UAE is recognized as a state. The argument that they would inherit it is obviously flawed because if that's the case Iran inherits many of the countries in the region and should claim them. You don't inherit land, you just have what you have when you write a constitution and are recognized as a state in the UN. the UAE claims are baseless, irrational, opportunistic and highly provocative.
Once they brought the case to the UN and the case was rejected and closed. Now we've written to the UN about their undiplomatic and illegal statements. Let's see what the UN responds back. Fair?

Well there is a big difference. Iraq had to launch a massive ground war when it tried to capture that territory from Iran.

UAE could rely on high-tech weaponry to neutralize Iranian Naval, Air and Missile Threats and take those islands. Iranian ground forces won't be a factor.

But again, the costs of conquering those islands from Iran and the regional war it could spark, its not worth it in the long run.

UAE is busy building its economy and is not interested in starting a regional war over some islands.
