former captain and Pakistan's second highest run-scorer in Tests, has offered his services as a full-time batting coach to the national team. Pakistan's batsmen are struggling on a tour of England, where they were dismissed for 182 in the first innings at Trent Bridge and are 15 for 3 in the second.

"The team definitely needs a full-time batting coach and, if any offer is made to me for this position, I will definitely give it serious consideration," Inzamam told. "They need a batting coach to guide them and it is a responsibility I would look at accepting because Pakistan cricket has given me a lot," Inzamam told Reuters. Pakistan already have in their coaching staff former batsman Ijaz Ahmed, who doubles up as a batting and fielding coach.

The Pakistan batsmen also struggled in the two Tests against Australia in England. They lost heavily at Lord's but managed to draw the series by winning at Headingley after their bowlers dismissed Australia for 88 in the first innings. Their batsmen, however, were unconvincing during the chase of a small target.

"The batsmen are not playing with the required technique and temperament," Inzamam said. "They lack patience and get out after scoring 20 to 30 runs, which is not good enough for Test matches."

Inzamam said the selectors should also consider the retired Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan, who is out of favour at the moment, for the Test side. "Even a good batsman requires a year or so in Test cricket to settle down and play long innings. I would advise the selectors to try out a combination of senior and young players. And they should use Younis and Yousuf."

I ask senior member see what inzi said in his last lines combination of mix young and senior players not all out youngster that what happens that azhar ali is good he must be in but not amin akmal bros malik they go out

I would rather go for Saeed Anwar as our specialist coach for openers and replace middle order with somebody else for a while.

Inzi bhai was good, in fact very good, in fact one of the best in the world. But i don't think he will be a successful batting coach

I am big fan of Inzammam ...

Best of luck to him

These people are not elgible to become coach but politician.....Look how everyone want to take advantage of situation for their benefit. Even Yousaf want to come back...lol

I agree with Zaki, Saeed Anwar is best for Pakistan team.

Zaki bhai your theory of going with youngsters is not going right we need experience no matter what from where it is coming we need experience from those who scored tons of runs in test for pakistan in england and MOHAMMAD Yousuf and Younis khan are those 2 players to look for inzi as a coach he might succes 50 50 but he can make strugling batesman like azhar ali like the copy of his he might make his tech right yes only azhar ali looke talented he need to be tuned al liitle in foot work when he bats and patience no better coach for these guys in batting i think we get than inzi saeed bhai is my all time fav player of pak enjoyed his cut shots he be good coach to left handers specially to butt

falcon jahan tak coaches ki baat hai to i always say we need solid coachees at domestic level. Like somebody said, it is stupid to see Geoff Lawson teaching Mohammad Yousuf how to bat, as Mohammad Yousuf was far better batsmen than Lawson and has far better record than him. We need training in our domestic level

Yes i am still in favour of bringing youngsters, 2 Y's can play one year maximum but what about after that? we need to groom our players now, it is the right time to go for younger team and groom our players. I wouldn't mind brining one more senior players back in the test squad replacing Shoaib Malik and not youngsters. We need somebody else if Umar Amin and Azhar Ali failed to perform. We don't need old experienced man again, they were good at their peak time and now we should focus on next 10-15 years and not only 1 year

We needed a young player to play under Yousuf and Younis 2 years ago but we failed to bring any such player in the squad. Now it is already too late, there should a trend where young players learn from seniors and when they retires, youngsters are capable enough to replace them and then bring another youngster to learn from his senior which is not getting right in our country

yes saeed or inzi are best but we need yousuf and younis back stop supporting these stupid youngsters who overnight not going to score tons of runs in next test we need to have MY and YN if we have any chance to win

actually we need a coach like him - and then everything will be better once again

zaki bhai we need coach like than everything will be alright hahahhaha just joking sir i hope u dont take it seriously becuase i always respected u alot

I think Saeed Anwar should be a better option. As a world class batter Inzi had no match but I think he has inclination towards tableghis, Salman Butt could not find a place in Inzi's team cause he refused to grow beard and probably similar situation with Misbah(I always saw this guy with towel and water bottel). I think the best would be to throw Ijaz Butt and his loved ones at least 50 km away for PCB Headquarters.
