PRIME Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s visit to the newly established ‘Air power Centre of Excellence’ at Mushaf Air Base in Sargodha and also participating in the flying mission has raised hopes that government would pay more attention to the needs and requirements of PAF. Mr Abbasi lauded the high morale of the aerial defenders while expressing satisfaction over PAF’s operational preparedness.
Air dominance is vital for the country to have deterrence stability in South Asia especially in the backdrop of frantic efforts and aggressive plans by Indian Air Force. Indian Air Force is considered to be one of the best funded air forces of the world, which are counted to be reference air forces, and it is implementing plans not only for acquisition of modern fighter aircraft from all available sources and other equipment to ensure its dominance, but is also pursuing a ten year indigenisation programme. It has in its inventory world’s most sophisticated aircraft and is planning to add more as per regional and global ambitions of the country. In terms of fast jets, India currently flies the Hawk, Mig-21, Mig-27, Mig-29, Jaguar, Mirage 2000, Su-30MKI and Tejas; and will soon fly the Rafale. In addition, the current ambition is to procure another lightweight fighter, most likely the Saab Gripen E/F or Lockheed Martin F-16 ‘Block 70/72’, as well as a fifth generation derivative of Russia’s troubled PAK FA/T-50 stealth fighter. As against this, Pakistan is facing trouble even in acquisition of the already committed F-16s by the United States and is left to rely mostly on JF-17 Thunder. However, we believe that besides modernising and equipping the JF-17 with latest missiles and air war equipment, focus should also be on acquisition of more latest aircrafts that could offer additional range, payload and capability boosts. We would urge the PAF leadership to draw a comprehensive but pragmatic road-map for strengthening air force to a level where it can ensure air deterrence and government should provide necessary support and finances for its implementation.

India will ensure its qualitative and quantitative superiority vis-a-vis PAF now and for the foreseeable future too.
Indian economic growth allows it the luxury to spend on its military better than Pakistan.
The best possible outcome for Pakistan is to ensure that a confrontation with India does not occur any time soon.

Do not blame the countries financial resources for the present situation of PAF, this (JF-17) is the best that it can provide now.

The delusional mind of an Indian. If there is a war, God forbid, Indians will receive the same phainty they have received in the past.

i think paf should issue shares on stock market.in this way people should buy share which provide them with capital to carry out projects

There are no delusions but the realities, it's not my problem if you just can't accept the facts.

A countries airforce is not a company.

If you have experienced how pathetic is their management you will stay miles away from investing your hard earned money on any of their non-defense projects. Refer to the real estate mess ups they have made from Tarnol to Karachi (other than the Air force Officers housing colonies) which goes on to tell the officers are capable but work only when they see a direct benefit. For the masses, they assume the role of 7-2 pm disinterested uniformed robots

Which superiority you are talking about kid? Indian air force squadrons has downed to 32 from 42 which are necessary and you are talking about superiority? India military is facing nutrition problems and you are talking about spending better?

Best thing for India is to stay away from Pakistan otherwise PAF will crush you as always we did.

JF-17 is like sweet honey in PAF and the latest block 3 will stun you. We are not spending decades on development of tejas which got rejected by own navy. We're going Indigenization and we will go for our own 5th gen fighter and you'll be dependent on others

His father was paf officer so he has lived in paf env. He is already more inclined towards paf, as far as money,[emoji383] was block iii ordered ? Target was to place orders by 1Q 2017 so that there is no disruption of production when block 2 ends which will end now in 2018 as paf ordered another batch on top of 50 for production in 2018 (12-14 I think those may be jf-17b)

If only wars were won by money.
Young Alexander the great slew the Persians
Arabs were loaded with money and Israel has always dominated them.
India always had more money than us but we are still standing. No matter what you do your military knows we can fight, we will fight and we will fight till the last drop. That'd WhY our border isn't crossed except in Bollywood dramas

Pakistan doesn't need a bigger air force than India'a, or even a better one (whatever that means), but a credible deterrent to make India think twice. Regardless, what's more important for Pakistan is a credible nuclear deterrent, meaning full-spectrum capabilities. The rest is just chest-beating.

Hope is good, I mean all our dreams revolves around hope, but the military does not run on hope dear.
Even with the low squadron strength, the quality of aircrafts in IAF is quite superior to PAF.
Current acquisition plans will cast a long shadow on PAFs defensive capabilities.

I normally try to be civil but mate are you insane? This is not how you run an airforce. It cannot function like a business corporation.
paf should not directly issue share instead it can raise capital through interposed subsidiary or special purpose vehicle or it can form joint venture with rich Islamic countries to carryy out projects

An airforce cannot be run like a listed corporation. A person invests in the shares of the company to expect either dividends from his investment or if he believes that the stock prices may go up due to any number of reasons. PAF, being an airforce is solely managed by the government using its own sources of finance. And the joint ventures that you mentioned are entered into with other countries if they have an agreement that you will buy the finished product and such ventures are financed by the government. Case in point is JF-17.

In the western world, defence companies collaborate with each other to achieve economies of scale and make a product that they can market and sell to earn profit. Such "defence companies" can raise capital by issuing shares as they will be able to pay the shareholders in the form of dividends from the same proceeds.
