Even the design is flawed, which has not been corrected till now.

Well, how can they correct, since it was designed by West German firm

1. The turret and hull design are not suitable for smooth operation-the turret
hits the driver when in an open-up position. The driver cannot enter or exit
the tank when the turret is facing forwards.
2. The fire control system is neither integrated nor fitted.
3. The loading time of 15 seconds was unacceptably slow.
4. The air defence gun has to be operated by the loader, which means that when the tank is attacked from the air the main armament remains inoperative.
5. Only three ready rounds are in the turret area, as against the 12 rounds specified by the General Staff Qualitative Requirements.
6. The shape of the turret is a shell trap.
7. The width of the track has increased beyond the Army's specifications,
further reducing the tank's mobility as it cannot now be transported on trains or indeed cross bridges in areas where it is likely to be deployed.
8. The seating positions are unsuitable

You again failed to post the source. :woot:

Here is about Al khalid. I will later post about Merkava, Lecrec etc. Every tank has many foreign systems....

Type 90-II (MBT-2000, Al-Khalid) Main Battle Tank - SinoDefence.com

"The Type 90-II is a third-generation main battle tank (MBT) designed and developed by the China North Vehicle Research Institute (also known as 201 Institute) in Beijing and the Inner-Mongolia First Machinery Group Corporation (also known as (617 Factory) in Baotou, Inner Mongolia for the export market. A further improved model known as MBT-2000 was marketed by NORINCO to the foreign customers in the late 1990s. The tank is built by Pakistan under license as the Al-Khalid."

Development of MBT-2000 (Al-Khalid)

The development programme comprised a number of prototypes with following configurations:-

1.

Configuration-1 Based entirely on Chinese systems viz the Chinese 125mm gun and auto-loader, fire control system (FCS), gun control system (GCS) and powerpack. The powerpack comprised a 1200 HP engine manufactured in China based on MTU-396 series engine under licence from MTU Germany coupled with LSG-3000 automatic transmission.
2.

Configuration-2 Based on Chinese 125mm gun and auto-loader, the FCS, GCS and powerpack being of Western origin. The powerpack comprised Perkins 1200 HP Condor engine coupled with the French SESM-500 automatic transmission.
3.

Configuration-3 Based upon a 1200 HP powerpack from Ukraine whereas the gun, autoloader, FCS and GCS are of Chinese and western origin.
4.

Configuration-4 Based upon Western armament and powerpack comprising MTU-871/TCM AVDS-1790 engine with LSG-3000 transmission. This option did not materialise owing to difficulties in acquisition of these systems due to trade embargoes.

Now whats remain in AK that is Pakistani? :undecided: Cme out of dream and understand that every tank has some foreign systems. Here is a video about Arjun development...

 you copied the whole 16 years old thing from other's site? Can't get your argument?

Good that you started focussing on topic, instead of trolling with Leclerc, merkava, al-khalid:cheers:

The design is excellent much much better than Soviet and Chinese light tank designs.

If you say so. Its your opinion against experts.
Lie. No source.

So you are saying Krauss-Maffei of germany did not designed the tank??

The turret is well suited for best operational scenario and its well tested in all conditions. In tests its seen that its much better suited than other tanks for the crews. The driver and loader has no problem. All the modern tanks are designed like that except Chinese.

Maybe thats the reason army was rejecting repeated, untill they also got tired of the repeated circus.

The FCS is one of the best in its class. The ballistic computer developed by DRDO well performed in desert conditions.

No doubt each component sourced from different vedor is good in its class....but we are talking about interated result here.

Loading time is better than other comparable tanks.

No Boilerplate:hang2: Quantify

lol in every tank operate like that including Abrams.

No need to take cover against Abrams, we are talking here.....

Another lie.

Refute it with data and source:lol:

Its optimised for heavy protection against all types of weapons. it was also tested against point bank range fires.

Thats Bull, it was old vintage 80's concept. The anti-armour technology has improved exponentially since.
Not correct few cm doesn't change anything. also there are larger tanks than Arjun is fielded.

Seems, it does to professionals:agree:

Its best among contemporary tanks of Arjun's level. Also the hydro suspension gives better accuracy and crew comfort.

There are no contemporary of arjun's being fielded. All 70-80's designed tanks are thrown as junk or upgraded to todays standard.

Arjun seems to have struck in TIME.:chilli:

Above all most of the earlier problems were resolved.

I showed they are as much present , if still stuck ask again.:welcome:

No matter how crappy MBT Arjun is , no matter it looks WW I tank, no matter its armor is just a metal ****, no matter its all foreign , we will be inducting 248 of these right now and we are happy about it.

We may order more of these in future and we will work on mark 2 version of it even more crappier than the earlier one.

We love absolute and antique products and our armed forces are happy about them.

We like Arjun Tanks!!!........Period....

well said mate:yahoo::yahoo:

Accepted it has foreign components happy now what next?

Turns out Arjun is infact not so indigenous as the Indians claimed after all.

I mean guys you should have just accepted the reality in the first page. See, you wasted you time, effort and most importantly your emotions on fighting about an incompetent Tank which your army will surely regret inducting if war was to break out.

What even if it was accepted? The trolls would have continued anyway.

Big empty brains like you never fail to amuse..may be u should be more concerned about ur so called indigenous AL KHALID which is nothing but tank which was DISCARDED by the chinese themselfs..u guys have a habit of accepting all sorts of junk isnt it..whtever percentage of indiginasation is in ARJUN it is still more desi then a 100% russian T-90 so dnt worry about us..worry about ur own tanks...recent trials showed how an ARJUN bakes a T-90...worry about ur own desi tank which has just a desi green paint on it so make it sound INDEGENOUS..Iam sure we indians would love make another al khalid nagar in the lines of patton nagar in the future:smokin::wave:
YOU WILL NOT LIKE THESE COMING TOWARDS YOU

It is not conjuncture, it is fact Arjun is crappy, coz it is a mismatched parts from divergent sources:smokin:

You are looking for the word obsolete:police:
