Not feasible. I dont think we would be spending that huge amount of cruise missiles on just one battalion of S400.

So the solution is simple : we send 160 large cheap drones to be targeted by the S400s, they fire their 160 missiles and lose $5 billion in the process. Even if we spend $1 million per drone we lose only $160 million but the Indians lose $5 billion. More sophisticated would be scan the frequencies the S400s use and jam them with our EW planes but the only way we can do that is by triggering them.

Swarm technology is in process of being perfected. Once it reaches maturity, it will render conventional AD obsolete, even layered IADS.

Cruise missile that cost a 100k per the writer who was an Air Commodore and would know what he is talking about. At a 100k a piece you are talking 6-10 million to take out a system worth 50 times the amount @ 500 million for a battery.

As for developing and launching kamikaze drones that are cheaper still. Even if S400 is layered and protected with other AD systems. These drones would be cheap enough to swarm and overwhelm the entire IADS cost effectively.

I always say that something better than nothing... Whatever you say, country will have better chance to survive if they will have good in both defense and attack capability..

Buddy, we are not discussing about the whole war strategy and the offensive capability of either side. The topic is about the approaches to neutralize S400 with pointers that means to do so cheaply and very cost effectively is within Pakistan’s reach.

With one approach (cruise missile) already being in place and requires doctrinal and inventory action.

And the other (Kamikaze drone) requires a bit of development but is well within reach.

Overestimating one's capabilities and underestimating the opponents are a deadly combination to have in a military planner even if it's an armchair general.

Well India has a habit of underestimating her enemies. More recently you had to pay for it with the downing of your own helicopter with the use of an Israeli weapons system. Complicated systems like the s400 take years to master and have not been tested in a real full scale war scenario. Either way, any weapon is as good as it's user and no weapon by itself is unbeatable.

Just like the Rafale, s400 will take years to master who can guarantee that until then there won't be a weapon system that can best s400 at a cheaper cost?
