Alright then if they can't send the military can they not use drone strikes and intelligence work. i mean I do not know how Indian politics or how the state and federal power works but using law enforcement to fight an internal insurgency does not make sense. Pakistan is using its military to fight of the Taliban extremist. In the US if we faced a communist insurrection the govt would send in the national guard and army to crush it. I guess in India the mentality is different. But using drones to moniter the Maoist movement and striking them would do serious damage at them.

I saw in one documentary where the farmers who planted monsantos GM crops and suffered great loss ....they assembled in front of this monsanto distributor and many of them were crying and a angry young man was holding a piece of papper ( the bill he paid for the suicide seeds) was shouting "the gov. doesnt care for us we want the naxals to save us".....with evil corporations like monsanto given a free hand its going to get much worse am afraid.

Not true. Capitalism in a nutshell is the concept private ownership of the means of production, creation of goods or services for profit or income by individuals or corporations.

No command is needed.

Their problems aren't because of capitalism but capitalism sure didn't help. Playing by pure capitalist rules never gets you anywhere. The only way to develop a poor country is protectionism, government intervention and a command economy.

No command needed, then what about Japan's Ministry of Industry and International Trade, which had just as much authority as the Soviet Gosplan? My country is a capitalist nation, we were untouched by the financial crisis, just like many other countries.

Capitalism and greed goes hand in hand, and is the driving force. It's naive to think of them as seperate concepts, and even more so to claim your country as "untouched" when the entire world economy is affected. Guess where the idea of universal healthcare, free education and social welfare comes from?

Did anybody forced these farmers to plant these GM crops or in that case grow cotton crops which are very sensitive to climate change. Why can't they just grow rice or vegetables, instead of taking chance in high risk cash crops like cotton?

Good question...the agents this corporation sends they tell lies like how they can get rich in short time and how they need to use very less pesticide and stuff ...once the illiterate farmer plants the crops the agent comes again and says he need to buy such and such pesticide or it wont work .....slowly but surely most of them get into the debt trap and as the farmers cant use the seeds again for the next plantation due to the seeds being programmed to kill themselves ...so thats a double whammy for the farmer when the crop fails . The chemicals supplied by monsanto also destroys the soil not to mention they also contaminate our native crops .

Yes many people who burned their fingers with the GM crop and survived have turned to growing normal crops.

There you said it. Its pure greed nothing more. So whats the fault of GoI then as it was their personal decision to grow GM crops. Its my personal observation that most of the farmers who commit suicide are cash crop growers. If Govt make some law by which this cash crop agriculture is regulated, then there will be no more farmer suicides.

I am all for sending in military, but some people in India suffer from 'Maoists are our misguided brothers' syndrome to which i don't subscribe. They are ruthless killers and extortionists..nothing more. If left unchecked they will become another FARC.
