That comparison is quite interesting and is quite valid in its assessment. The Type-52D is superior in AAW capability while the Kolkata is superior in ASW capability. There is an explanation for that, the IN has no air-threat in the neighborhood at present, while it is cognisant of threats from Subs. The follow-on to the Kolkatas are likely to have a beefed up AAW capability; since the space/real-estate already exists on board. For sure, some of that will get utilised for additional Land Attack capability in the form of the Nirbhay CMs. Even that class is likely to get a heavier gun of 127 MM. The other change will be replacement of the LW-08 (tried and tested as it is) by a newer Radar in the follow on ships.

Both ships are good in their field
Kolkata exceeds in ASW capability while Type 52 D has superior AAW capability

The VLS onboard 052D are very fexible, it can fit many types of missiles depend mission profile. Unlike Kolkata.

Type52D has hit the limit on weapons capability.

Kolkata has space left for more VLS missile.

The 64 VLS of Type 052D are much bigger than MK41 VLS and not to each cell house bigger missile than the Barak8 missile. Future upgrade of missile onboard will not be so constraint by size. Plus the 052D house a bigger 130mm main gun compare to 76mm oto berata gun, taking up more space compare to Kolkata.

I think the Chinese had something in mind that compares with the South Korean KD3 ships..... not the Indian ships

Kolkata has lower IQ than Type 52d

Aegis should exceed both these vessels.
