India's greatest gifts to China : Kung Fu and Zen Buddhism

he attained enlightenment in India. kung Fu as we know it today heavily evolved from kalari.

It was the same civilization. Why do you think Nepal calls itself a Hindu nation?

Nepal was/is a part of Indian civilization- state is a political concept, not a civilizational one.

Wrong!

There is no historical concept of an 'Indian civilisation'.

India is merely a geographic concept as Churchill said. He know because his country created 'India' the country.

Nepal has nothing to do with Hindus. It's like saying Japan is part of China.

India cannot be a civilisation because there is no such thing as an 'Indian', it's a state, not a civilisation.

Facts are facts!

These stories may be legends, But Chinese kung fu flourished because of Buddhist monks and there is no denial in this point.

And Buddhism is from India. So the origins of Shaoilin are from India.

Just read what you have pointed You have no idea what you have pointed.

Buddhism is from Nepal. Hinduism was created by the Persians.

You're an IDIOT..Indian civilization is the heart of the entire region. If in the north the heart of civilization was the Ramayana and Mahabharata, in the south Kamba translated the same into Tamil as revered epics. Every single part of the country is suffused with it- including in Nepal.
The political task was to ensure that relegions that came in moch later find a respected place. That's why we are 'secular'

Do any Indians here know what Zen means? Shame on Hindus whom the Budda abandoned long time ago.

Chinese Kung Fu has been flourishing before Buddha was born. What monks are you talking about??????? Monks in China know martial arts because early monks were made up of rebel soldiers escaping persecution.
The earliest references to Chinese martial arts are found in the Spring and Autumn Annals (5th century BCE),

And Buddhism is from India. So the origins of Shaoilin are from India.
Buddhism is from Indian subcontinent, not just India. There was no India back then.
Zen Buddhism is found only in East Asia, not anywhere in the indian subcontinent.
Shaolin is in China, not India.
Shaolin Kung Fu is chinese.

There has been India from aincient times, not just in civilization- under the mauryas it was even significant politically.

You read this in global times didn't you?

Yes there are martial arts in China But lets read about Indian influence

Indian martial arts may have spread to China via the transmission of Buddhism in the early 5th or 6th centuries of the common era and thus influenced Shaolinquan. Elements from Indian philosophy, like the Nāga, Rakshasa, and the fierce Yaksha were syncretized into protectors of Dharma; these mythical figures from the Dharmic religions figure prominently in Shaolin boxing, Chang boxing and staff fighting.[14] The religious figures from Dharmic religions also figure in the movement and fighting techniques of Chinese martial arts.[15] Various styles of kung fu are known to contain movements that are identical to the Mudra hand positions used in Hinduism and Buddhism, both of which derived from India.[16] Similarly, the 108 pressure points in Chinese martial arts are believed by some to be based on the marmam points of Indian varmakalai.[17][18]

The predominant telling of the diffusion of the martial arts from India to China involves a 5th-century prince-turned-monk named Bodhidharma who is said to have traveled to Shaolin, sharing his chuan style and thus creating Shaolinquan.[19] According to Wong Kiew Kit, the Monk's creation of Shaolin arts "...marked a watershed in the history of kungfu, because it led to a change of course, as kungfu became institutionalized. Before this, martial arts were known only in general sense."[20]

There was no India from ancient time. Your civilization is called Vedic civilization, not indian. There was no India until British created it in 1947. There was however an indian subcontinent with a myriad of different kingdoms. But there was never one overall ruler of the land. Some empires like Maurya covered a huge area but it only lasted 130 years. Is your history only 130 years? Was there a continuity of the monarch under a different dynasty? What happened to the rest of the period? Do not mention Bharat, mythology is not real history. No country by the name of Bharat existed :coffee:

Wrong once again!

There has never ever been a thing called 'India'.

There were only tiny kingdoms with Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Tamils and so on. The word 'India' was created by the British.

Calling India a civilisation is like saying the Soviet Union is a Soviet civilisation
There is no such thing as a soviet civilisation, it was merely a country grouped together into a union. That's what India is. India is a union grouped together from Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Tamils, etc.

There is no such thing as 'Indian civilisation'.

The day India the country breaks up, the concept and name 'India' will disappear just like the name 'Soviet' disappeared.

Try harder, much much harder

Are you retarded? Didn't I already prove to you that Bodhidharma and his martial arts were LEGEND. Wikipedia quotes both legend and historical accounts. Kalari was founded 600 years after Boddharmia. He can't possibly be teaching martial arts. There were no martial artist monks in India. Martial Art was never an indian tradition. Have some honesty will you?

Prove that Kalari was founded after 600 years of bodhidharma and prove that what I have quoted in my post are legend and are not true.

Back it up with sources and facts.

Kalaripattu was documented in 11 th century AD that do mean it is older than this period.

Buddha was born in the gangetic plains. The heart land of Indian civilization. He was born into a Hindu family.

What spread with Buddhism is Indian civilization.

If you think there was any bare chested, elongated earlobe having person in China before Buddhism, you're wrong.

Are you not retarded? If something was not documented, there is no way you can tell it existed.
I've posted source and facts, if you're cannot read and comprehend, it's not my responsibility to repeat what I've posted again

Of course there is.

Here is an example of Indian civilization seeping into China, because of Buddhism.

Where ever Buddhism, Hinduism went, Indian civilization seeped into the local culture.
