Russia is more becoming like USA and EU Capitalist then like Socialist Country.............Russia Cannot fund PAK FA. this shows something about Russia State of Economy!

India or no India Russia will fly PAK FA.
Their propaganda RT tv probably have more funding in the next 20 years than what India offered for tech transfer.
I can guarantee India will end up paying more for the PAK FA in the long run as they depart from early bird discount.

If Indian military is Really serious and I mean REALLY ! than instead of asking russia to buy such expensive technology it rather should develop there own using available funds and integrate that technology in there own jets like the HAL TEJAS.Making your own developed stuff lethal feeling proud is way better than buying from thosewhom after selling weapons become superpower (thats a fact )

Let's put aside everything and ask ourselves.

Suppose if country X worked very hard on an important and sensitive piece of military technology. Would country X be willing to completely transfer that sensitive technology to country Y which happens to be a friendly country to country X? And this is in a world where state of affairs are murky to say the least.

I think India will be drawn into buying a US or Western fighter. India cant hunt with the hounds and run with the hare. They will have to dump their Russian alliance over the next few years.

If memory serves, the Indians were offered to be part of the JSF program some years back (which they refused in favor of the FGFA program). And the Americans did make aggressive sales pitches for the F-18 and F-16.

From where I am now, it is crystal clear to me that India is becoming increasingly important for the Americans due to size, geography, China, terrorism, etc. The Indians have the money now (unlike the Cold War days), perceived security challenges and it has the economy to support that.

This initiative with India started way back in the Clinton administration. This development in relations had already gone a long way since and will continue to grow considering today's state of affairs.

USA turned a blind eye to the Pak nuclear program in exchange for its help with the Afghan war , giving Pakistan the most valuable trump card available.
Besides, please don't compare Pakistan and India. Each bring different levels of importance and value to the game.
